  1. I had a similar view... a little before 7 pm.
  2. Some areas farther north (like you) are flirting with criteria, but it doesn't seem as widespread as farther south.
  3. 1996 Aurora, IL type deluge in Tennessee. Yikes
  4. Fwiw, there is a covid thread in OT now. Does get a little rough and strays sometimes though
  5. I watched a radar loop and wow, that thing fell apart fast.
  6. Ok, no reason to be at Wrigley if you're a Cubs fan.
  7. You're in the slight risk area. How disappointing can it be?
  8. Zero reason to be at Wrigley Field these days. Zero.
  9. Flirting with the rare 80 dew at ORD. Been hanging at 79...
  10. Yeah it would have to make a significant left turn.
  11. Yikes Pretty big instability gradient from west to east so curious to see how these will perform closer to Chicago.
  12. This brings up a good point. Why would the US military mandate the vaccine if they thought it would harm their people?
  13. Definitely have some interest in Monday. Would expect bumped up probs on the new day 1 outlook. Looks like potential supercells to linear/bow.
  14. Calling it on the 8th of the month might be one of your earliest.
  15. Dude, I researched it intensely in the weeks before I got vaxxed. I don't rely on what a talking head on TV says. I looked at stuff from mainstream sources and, well, non-mainstream sources. I think I came across just about every theory that is out there. And I still decided to take it.
  16. Rizzo had cancer like 15 years ago.
  17. I don't. The stuff I come across tends to be about an individual state or hospital, but it's pretty much always 90%+ in the hospital are unvaccinated, and sometimes it's closer to 100% I think Israel recently reported that vaccine efficacy was down to like 17% in people who received it in January. Would be important to find out if is that an age thing or if it tends to wear off at a similar rate across age groups. The good news is that the vaccines are still holding up well against severe disease on a percentage basis. But if more vaccinated people are getting sick to begin with, the numbers with severe illness are going to rise even if the % efficacy against severe illness never went down.
  18. It will be fun trying to explain proportions to the American public when our percentage of hospitalized vaccinated starts going up. For now though, we may be benefiting from a somewhat later ramp up of the vaccination campaign than Israel (meaning the vaccine hasn't worn off as much in our initial round of people) and we also have a more sizable pool of unvaccinated for delta to feast on, thus making the unvaccinated overwhelmingly dominate the hospital percentages. I also read somewhere that some other countries tend to be more liberal with hospitalizing people, so that is something to keep in mind when comparing countries. Some of the vaccinated in hospitals in other countries may not really need to be there.
  19. I remember going to Drudge last year... literally the entire page was covid links.
