  1. So it's finally over for Chicago. Dec 28 beats the previous record latest first measurable snow by 8 days. You would think this record would have a good chance to stand for 10+ years, but who knows anymore.
  2. Very picturesque out there with snow sticking to everything. Been too long.
  3. I liked Ricky Ricardo a little better.
  4. There should be with a lake temp still in the 40s and any airmass that is even remotely chilly.
  5. Record car accidents tomorrow if the roads are even remotely slick. Everybody around Chicago forgot how to drive on snow.
  6. ^could make an argument for southward expansion of that should trends hold this evening.
  7. 18z HRRR finally flipped to a snowier solution.
  8. Yeah, that was the best part of the storm here.
  9. So you're saying it's not going to be a world class first measurable snow of the season like Nov 2015 at ORD, when 11.2" fell?
  10. There are some favorable factors for a period of mod-hvy snow, so there is upside if that can last long enough. Honestly not really confident on a call.
  11. I went 30-35", but it's fairly low confidence really in either direction. There should be a nice recovery but am concerned there may be enough SE ridge concern at times to prevent a very long snowy run.
  12. Now less than 7 hours away from the record falling at ORD. Exciting stuff.
  13. I believe Jackstraw was dealing with ongoing covid issues. I hope he is alright and that it's just the lackluster start to winter. I've seen RC lurking a couple times. I think we have been covering the futility stuff quite well (lol) and certainly hope to see RC posting when something exciting comes along.
  14. Going to flush basically an entire month of meteorological winter down the toilet (even if it starts to turn around in the final days). And once again, it is the month of December. Is it too much to ask to get snow on the ground for Christmas? Apparently it is these days. What trash. Might as well be living in Florida, because lately they have about the same odds of a white Christmas as the Chicago area.
  15. I haven't checked but I bet ORD has had a T at least 3 or 4 times.
  16. It got better. Finished below average snow but not terribly bad.
  17. Chicago's latest measurable record is so going down. Twice in 10 years.
  18. It's still 40 at ORD, so I guess that's good if you're rooting against measurable snow.
