Somewhat forecast. As the theme has been models had real hard time where the convection was going to erupt. HRRR did pick it up perfectly about 3 hours out.
Pretty crazy stat on that storm. That was the 8th greatest 1 hour rainfall in Buffalo.
Lot of the stations in South Buffalo Cheektowaga area are showing just shy of 2” of rain in less than an hour. Check out the temperature drop. 10+ degrees in 50 minutes.
Just rode it out under my 8x8 lol. Lots of C2C flashes, little thunder, torrential downpour. Got super cold as the front passed could feel it just cool the air down. Gonna see if I got anything decent on video outside.
Short 500 nurses at just one hospital… The labor shortage in this country right now is just incredible! Where did this workforce go in 18 months? Restaurants closing early and not even opening on odd days. I mean he’ll most Tim Hortons close at 3 now! I work the bottom rung in food retail and it’s just impossible to find help. Every week I bank payroll dollars I just can’t spend. Have an open OT policy for whoever wants to work extra shifts and I still am just so short handed. Food manufactures are also getting hit hard and several big food companies are forced to shut down production lines due to labor shortages. If the delta scare keeps growing there is some concern supply chains will be challenged more than in March 2020.
Is this really what’s going on down there? I mean NY had the super surge last March that the rest of the US didn’t… Is this how it is down South? Scary if it is? How do other parents feel about this with the kids being prone? My daughter had covid back in December and had nothing more than a 2 day flu so didn’t seem that scary and guess it makes me downplay things a bit. A friends 1 and 7 year olds both just had the delta variant and both were fine just a couple days of cold symptoms.
Right in the middle of proverbial shit sandwich here. Line over Ontario will probably graze us north… Cells firing along Ohio shoreline will just drag into PA like they always do… Only thing peaking my interest is seeing a few spout reports over the western basin… MAYBE something to watch…
That’s about the only way this weather is nice is if you have a pool. Saving all my outdoor errands and activities for the weekend. Sun upper 70s and low dews.
Lake killed the storms. Had very strong SW winds all afternoon despite the great daytime hearing setup. Gusting to 40mph it really mixed and stabilized things over the eastern end of Lake Erie and WNY. BUF only made it up to 86 with a max heat index of only 91 due to that breeze. Crazy look at this morning it was 79 with 73 DP at 4am…
Gust front on the main line is just going so fast it’s literally gobbling up the convention that blew up ahead of it. Slowing down a bit now with that, looks like it’s going to do a little reorganizing. I think I’m safe waiting till 7-730ish to get down to the water.
Same… I hate being around people. Certain areas of the outer harbor can be crowded but can always find an area with only a few people around especially once you get further down like Wilkinson Point
I usually do furhman Blvd from tift up to the coast guard station. I need to pick my daughter up in hamburg between 6-7 so going to have to do this one on the fly. If I can’t get back up route 5 in time I’ll have to hit Hamburg beach area.
What you thinking about time here. Hard to gauge with how fast that line out front is firing up. Thinking maybe try to be in a spot by 7ish? Going to be great timing right at sunset.
Might not be a night time chase after all… Tons of activity flaring up ahead of that main line. Thinking more like 7-8ish arrival time for WNY. BW here comes your shelf… get the drone! Anyone else going out to storm watch tonight?
