  1. Great lightning show and downpour… but got NOTHING for wind. Like trees are dead clam… so weird!!!
  2. Yup… that swirl on top end is core of strongest winds… DP just tweeted advising storm chasers to stay home…
  3. Anyone else gonna be out? I’m gonna be taking cover under my 10x10… see if I can get blown away lol.
  4. I dunno looks like northern edge is flaring due west now. This could be insane!
  5. if it’s a good enough storm it should right? This is the system to watch.
  6. Updated SWS for WNY later tonight. BUF on notice for strong storms overnight. Too late for me to stay up. Indulged a bit to much during the game today. Gonna be snoring hard soon. Maybe I’ll set an alarm for midnight to do a radar check.,,
  7. No lake involvement tonight… Watching a few pulses push through tonight with some chance of storms. Lots of large hail reports over MI… cloud tops are soaring in these complexes.
  8. The late night storms just aren’t as fun… Let’s see what happens… This evening our attention will focus upstream over the central Great Lakes. Nearly all the hi-res guidance suggesting a convectively induced MCV will track into western New York this evening along the cold front which will be crawling southward through the area. An area of organized convection is expected to develop across lower Michigan and quickly move into western New York along expected instability gradient along and south of the frontal boundary. Bulk shear value of 50-60 knots across the area will bring a threat for damaging winds with perhaps some isolated large hail as this area of convection races east across the area in the general 10 pm to 3 AM time frame. Though the convection will be moving quickly there will be a risk for locally heavy rainfall with any localized flooding tied to any training cells that may evolve.
  9. Need to watch consumer inflation as well in short term. Housing market is still floating in outer space from last years spike. Medical and Insurance costs soar higher every year. Raw materials spiked few months ago (remember lumber pricing). Gas keeps creeping up. Cars… Computers… You name it… Coming months will be the worst however food prices will start to see a huge lift. Lack of material to manufacture goods, lack of workers, major lack in transportation supply chain will all lead to rapidly increasing costs for everyday household items and groceries. There is going to be a major “realignment of value” in this country soon.
  10. Not an ideal weather day for the home opener but is what it is. Hate these gloomy days! Storms should hold off till after the game but winds will be an issue. SW winds will be gusting in off the lake up to 30mph at kickoff and may have some impact.
  11. Slow weather day when Cheektowaga and West Seneca are popping on SPC highest population centers at risk…
  12. Went from sunny and upper 70s to severe weather threat for tomorrow. Couple rounds depending where boundary sets up. That first batch of storms looking nasty!
  13. Seeing this gets me so excited for lake effect season! Check out the band that has just been pumping in off Georgian Bay for the past 6 hours. Looks like it’s even seeding a little convection off Ontario into WNY. Almost Lake Effect time!
  14. You’ve gotta think the Supreme Court will challenge if this is constitutional or not, especially with how this is an executive order and not a law. Federal employees I can understand, but reaching into the private job sector like this? I just don’t see how the whole thing would even work, would it even be possible to weekly test that many people? Business can’t find enough employees as it is now, this will only act to further sour the job market and continue the downward spiral on economy is currently on.
  15. Another bust today. Glad I didn’t waste my time going down to see yet another line of storms get torn up and spit out by the lake…. Fizzle Fizzle!
  16. Man… those storms in Ontario just try and one up each other every day…
  17. Would have been some neat cloud structure with those storms building over the lake if it was day time. Caught one strike otherwise a bit of a boring night chase. Watching this next line swinging through but we all know it’s gonna get torn up on approach.
