    It is permanent for the time being. I sure will miss Vermont without a doubt. I had to come back for my fiancee. Expect plenty of complaining as I got from 100" of snow a year to 0 LOL.

    The latest report is saying there will be no peak this year, confirming a browning out for the most part.

    A few more shots from my foliage hunt. These are enhanced some but not over the top. The views are nice despite a more lackluster year: Note: Aerials were taken via launching from US-221 at a pulloff. It is not legal to launch along the parkway.

    I went up to the mountains on Friday and it was abysmal in most spots. There were pockets of color, but a lot of trees are just browning out. Many had quite a bit of leaf drop as already noted. Definitely a lot of disappointed tourists I am sure. Here are a few shots:

    Is there any sign of a foliage season in the NC mountains or is it a complete dud? The reports I have seen sound pretty dismal.

    Pretty boring in Raleigh so far. We will see what these backside winds do if they materialize here.

    4" here thus far. Our forecast total is 10" as of this afternoon's update which is an increase.

    Very good snow growth here in the BTV area with everything pasted nicely. This is a good start.

    I am disappointed that we will end this year here without a double digit snowfall event but the skiing will continue to be great of course in the northern Greens so I won't complain too much :).

    BTV has us pegged for 7" with a 1 in 10 shot at 18+ . What I do like is the models consistently hooking us up in the CPV with this one. Obviously I doubt we will see the 18 but the 7 would be good.

    I feel bad for anyone in that screw zone. Obviously this was probably the one chance for the year and to be in there just hurts.

    I think the really bright lights on the far horizon toward the middle are from Montreal with Burlington as you said to the left side of the pic on the far horizon. As for the bright white lights on the left I am not sure.
