  1. IAD hit 87 degrees. New record. We do heat and wind well.
  2. Enjoy your outbreak tomorrow. From a WPC met on Twitter.
  3. Soldier's Delight fire trying to flare up again.
  4. Just want to say that SPC has really upped their game in recent years. They were already solid, but man when they issue a Tornado Watch does it verify solidly in these parts.
  5. Eventually went to 8 alarms. Fire jumped several roads with flame heights in excess of 300 feet. Maryland and PA National Guard air assets got water for target air drops. Over 700 acres before containment. Some real west coast stuff.
  6. Looks like we have a broad SW flow at the surface and aloft, so I don't think we're going to have to worry too much about a river wind. But hey, it's DCA.
  7. I'm flying to Oklahoma very early Thursday. Expect this to be a major outbreak.
  8. If the HRRR is to be believed, it's possible that DCA and Cumberland could top into the upper 80s or even get a cheap 90 degree reading. DCA, because it's DCA. Cumberland, because of downsloping.
  9. Yes. That became the tornado warned storm in New Castle County, DE. Cecil wasn't in the Tornado Watch which is unfortunate.
  10. It's definitely gotten quieter here in Reisterstown.
  11. High Wind Warnings was absolutely justified. Good work from start to finish with this event by SPC and NWS WFOs.
  12. Looks like IAD just gusted to 57 kts again.
  13. We're fortunate it's gusts and no sustained with full tree canopy or wet soil.
  14. Legit event. If this were during peak sunshine though, probably would be worse with the sun to aid mixing.
  15. Wind picking up here in Baltimore County as well.
  16. M55kt KNUI (St. Inigoes, MD) http://www.airnav.com/airport/KNUI
  17. Patuxent River Naval Air Station gusted to 70 mph.
