  1. Impressive outflow boundary going into NW DC @Ian might be getting some sweet shelf cloud shots.
  2. Wow TIAD radar has what appears to be significant microburst ongoing across Fairfax.
  3. Warned NOVA cell approaching what appears to be a NW to SE oriented surface boundary evident on Dover radar. Might spike this thing quickly.
  4. We are so very fortunate to have a dense network of environmental observations systems in this part of the country. Radar, satellite, stream gages, volunteer weather spotters/observers, trained meteorologists, a Delmarva mesonet, and soon a mesonet in Maryland. This multi-layered approach mitigates risk when one system is unavailable.
  5. Very impressive. Seems Mt. Holly's forecast area always jackpots these days.
  6. I'll take storms. Keep knocking at that rainfall deficit.
  7. Nothing will be worse than Boxing Day 2010. Nothing.
  8. A lot of tree/wires/transformer calls in Parkville, Pikesville, and Towson.
  9. That cell over Baltimore County is going gangbusters. Watching it from my front porch in Reisterstown and it's constant CG. Obviously a healthy updraft.
  10. NBC4 talking about this maybe being a bust for DC metro.
  11. Downsloping and lack of strong midday sun killed us. We need an EML to overcome the terrain issues here. That was reinforced with the 2021 Derecho.
  12. I really do hate it when I'm right. The mid level cloud deck screwed us today. If we had stayed clear, I would've been eating crow.
  13. If you have radar scope, you can get longer range base reflectivity from the terminal radars. Should be 'Long Range Reflectivity', second option from the top when selecting what mode you're viewing.
  14. Per the LWX AFD, looks like the MCS in Tennessee has killed off any chance of an EML: Latest SPC meso analysis seems to confirm this.
