  1. Wonder what the navy base in San Diego is thinking right now.
  2. The terrain and soil types in the SW are not conducive for absorbing this much rainfall in such a short amount of times. Many locations are about to receive a year's worth of precipitation in under 72 hours.
  3. Always wondered how a metar site is named. The nomenclature is fascinating to me.
  4. Not widespread heavy rainfall like this.
  5. @olafminesaw I would posit that would be beneficial. Dilution of surface water and recharging of groundwater. To be honest, I'm quick excited to see how this would play out. Imagine if we somehow saw this happen maybe once or twice a decade in the future due to climate change, etc.
  6. Maryland mesonet website should be up in a few weeks. Our eastern shore land use agreeements were signed last week. Shovels go in the ground soon!
  7. I'm sure the Imperial Valley and Salton Sea will love that influx of precip.
  8. The flood watch is absolutely justified. PWATs are in the 95th percentile regionwide, with minimal steering flow aloft.
  9. Both Euro and GFS pumping rhe Midwest ridge. Hard to believe we escape without a burp or two of heat.
  10. Making up for being a terrible snow observation site.
  11. Watch us do upper 90s in early October again.
  12. Am in Tysons. Sky is mordor black to my south. Constant thunder. Definitely some boundary working.
  13. Watch some rando right moving supercell drop right down I-270 today. We're famous for those kind of set ups.
  14. I don't think anyone here could handle another blowtorch winter.
