Seems like there's enough of a wedge west of the bay to keep the winds from mixing down to the surface effectively. All of the 40+mph wind gusts are east of the bay currently.

Gusty shower line today. I'm in. Sometimes you can get cool shelf clouds in a setup like this.

Don't sleep on setups like this. We had a marginal risk for severe weather in February just before covid kicked off that yielded numerous wind reports and several tornadoes after just an hour or two of sun: https://www.spc.noaa.gov/exper/archive/event.php?date=20200207

12z NAM never gets dewpoint temps above 60F north of the Virginia Tidewater. Not sure why we have a D3 slight risk this far north.

RE: NOAA/NWS Call your elected representatives. Make a stink about it in person when they have town halls, but above all be respectful. Do not give them a reason to arrest you and strip your voting rights away. This is round #1. The decapitation of NWS will start in April.
