  1. Clarksville mesonet site shows near full saturation of 2", 4" and 8" soils.
  2. WPC meso had a WSW to ENE warm front across the region. Wonder if we're breaking into the warm sector?
  3. Wonder if the wind mixing down means the lower level stable air has eroded?
  4. Meso'd: https://www.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov/metwatch/metwatch_mpd_multi.php?md=0007&yr=2024
  5. Rock and Sligo Creeks area starting to spike.
  6. high Wind Warning coming for DC metro.
  7. D1 Mod Risk of flooding expanded from WPC. Pretty impactful wording. Haven't seen this in awhile.
  8. Our mesonet site in Frostburg has recorded 11" of snow!! https://weather.umd.edu/mdmesonet/?station=frostburg
  9. Some of the coastal counties have issues with school busses on rural roads near tidal waters in setups like this. It's just easier to eat an hour or two and move the kids before the tidal problems start.
  10. This is definitely an event for the record books across the CONUS. Certainly one that has my attention for local impacts. It's a damn shame this isn't a blizzard.
  11. 12z Euro going pretty bonkers with the rainfall. Some spotty 3 and 4 inch amounts west of I-95.
  12. Got a screenshot or two for those are mobile?
  13. We're also in an El Nino. The D3 QPF forecast is 1.5" to 2.5" for the entire I-95 to US 15 corridor. We've busted high last minute with just about every other rain storm. I don't see how we don't repeat here.
  14. Our soils are quite saturated and it doesn't take much during the winter for flooding to develop. Cold ground and no vegetation means runoff can't be absorbed as efficiently.
  15. The Keedysville mesonet site in Washington County is reporting a snow depth of M1.4"
  16. Moderate events to me are 8-12". Anything over a foot is a big storm to me.
  17. I'd rather we have 3 or 4 moderate events than 1 big storm that blows the pattern and melts away in 3 days.
