  1. Mesonet 2" soil temps are already tanking. We'll be good.
  2. Looks like the 50th percentile forecast for NBM is 3" from DC north.
  3. Artic front appears to have crossed Frostburg. Mesonet site shows a drop in temperatures. Already flirting with the teens.
  4. Parr's Ridge has a local maximum just north of Manchester into southern York County, PA.
  5. No need for you to hang around then.
  6. Folks, remember this for whatever little winter we have left:
  7. It's coming. The airmass behind this storm is impressive.
  8. GFS has snow. I'm not sure why everyone is crying.
  9. It's a new year and I'm feeling generous. Don't spend it all in one place.
  10. My 2 cents on the 12z ICON: 1.) It's a low developing kind of late like the Euro. This is a con. 2.) It's an easy way to win. We have a developing storm riding a fresh cP airmass with falling temps. Everyone wins. 3.) This isn't too far off from a solid 4" - 8" event for everyone. Just need the coastal to slow down and develop a bit faster. Potential plus.
  11. ICON gets everyone on the board west of the Bay it seems. Then it gets cold so it doesn't melt off. I'll take.
  12. Seems like this year there's some last minute shift, for better or worse, that occurs around HR90 on the guidance. 12z suite will be impactful today, IMO, fresh upper air data and the players are starting to get closer to the denser North American observation network.
  13. Creating an early storm thread is the NAD27 of forum decorum.
  14. Believe it. Fresh snow and cold air means you can even undercut temps a bit. @wxmeddler Maybe all our stations will get a test on the snow depth sensors?
  15. Thank you. Those are communists who hate our freedoms. State plane or bust, glad Maryland only has 1 state plane. PA had 2.
  16. Baltimore and points northeast have gotten wrecked. Even some fire trucks stuck in flooding in Harford County.
  17. Preliminary peek is good. Faster storm motion and we'll have a few days to dry out.
