  1. Two great, cheap sources of organic matter to loosen tough clay or shale soil are mushroom compost and leaf mold. You can buy them at a garden store and they come in 2 or 3 ft^3 bags for about $2.50 a bag. Purchase them in March and fork or till the material in. If you do this every year or every other year you'll notice that over the course of 2 to 3 years your soil will dramatically improve. EDIT: This is the leaf gro. Amazing stuff: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Leafgro-40-lb-Compost/3152593
  2. The old adage is, "One years seeds are three years weeds."
  3. Went to the Beaver Dam Swim club in Cockeysville yesterday. It's an old marble quarry and a damn shame you can't fish a small portion of it. Saw a school of about bass about 17" - 20" cruising one section. Tons of huge panfish too.
  4. Really excited for this heat coming up. It should yield some great evening bass fishing up in Carroll County. Anyone here try the Whopper Plopper? Looking at getting a few and trying them out this summer.
  5. Lost our two watermelons plants this week due to cold, wet ground. Somehow our tomatoes, beets and pumpkins and squash are doing very well.

  7. It's June and it's wet or dry depending on where you live. Post your pics of outdoor success or fail!
  8. You have to update your GR AE and GR Level 3 to the latest version. This is accomplished by going to www (dot) grlevelx (dot) com and then re-downloading the program. Your license key and settings should be saved. Gibson Ridge has a sizeable flaw, IMO, in that that their software programs do not have an option to download and install the latest updates. Hope this helps!
  9. Montgomery and Baltimore County schools closed tomorrow.
  10. DCA reported 9" please God let them get one more inch.

  12. Gonna call it storm total in Reisterstown of 4.5" incredibly dissipointing event here. Glad to low land folks cashed in they more than deserve it.
  13. Great lesson there. If you get under the upper level energy on the backside you can score big time. But if you're not under it, you just sit on the sidelines jealously watching.
  14. No calls for a transformer or investigations pending in CAD. Might be a lone strike.
  15. Yup. The snow report next to Reisterstown is me. Been dancing on the edge since sunrise.
  16. It went from nothing to a decent clip here about 15 min after the darker greens moved over.
  17. Snow intensity really picking up in Reisterstown. Steady snow but it's mostly needles and plates.
  18. We are on the wrong side of the event this time. But hey, were usually the ones cashing in while Ian and Randy suffer through 4" of slop.
  19. You're the jackpot zone. I-70 down through just south of I-66 it seems.
  20. Yes. Easily the best snow since midnight up here. A good, steady moderate snow.
  21. Same up here in Reisterstown. Very small pixie dust.
  22. Per LWX as of noon: IAD 7.1" BWI 4.6" No word from DCA
