The state public utility commissions license internet and cable providers to work in this jurisdiction. They hold a lot more power than people realize.

Rural jurisdictions are desperately behind the times when it comes to equitable access to Internet. The local/state govs need to make this a priority yesterday.

Just prepped and seeded a large section of my back yard. Really hope the next few days are cloudy and wet.

Alright, I'll give one of my not-so-secret spots up. Across the street from the Winfield fire department in Carroll County is a small water supply pond. If you practice catch-and-release with barbless hooks (and clean up after yourself), you'll be okay. That pond is better at sunrise or sunset...several decent sized fish in there but be advised it's quality over quantity.

One of the best fishing days with my wife since we moved back to Maryland. Started out just after 9:00 am with light rain just north of Westminster. My wife and I got 3 largemouth in the 1 to 2 lb. range with Gary Yamamoto's on a split shot. Moved to our second spot and just slayed on frogs and plastics. We didn't even notice the rain moving in until we heard thunder and then realized that fishing with graphite rods wasn't a good idea. We ended up with just under 18 bass and 3 large panfish. I love fishing when it's cloudy and rainy and to see this in late August is even more amazing.

Definitely looking like a Carroll/Baltimore/Harford jackpot today.

If you look at last night's radar, there was a spot where the activity fell apart between Gettysburg and Lancaster. It seems the atmosphere wasn't overturned and it shows on the SPC mesoanalysis with LIs around -7 and impressive low level lapse rates. Baltimore and Westminster are certainly in a better spot compared to DC for this event it seems. Mappy and the Carroll County crrew might jackpot bigly from this.

With the increase in SVRs and now even a TOR in PA, I'm surprised a severe thunderstorm watch hasn't been issued at least for southern PA and into northern MD.

All of LWX and Delmarva (north of US 50) added to the DY1 slight...15% wind.

The lone warned cell in Central PA so far has been the only thing producing sustained damage reports. That is probably being fed by a little vort max or something. I would argue it's probably going to be the main show and would scrape through Baltimore and Harford counties.

At the risk of sounding optimistic, it should be noted that a subtle boundary was laid down across Frederick, Carroll, and Baltimore counties last night by the convection that drifted out of PA. It could lead to a quick spark of the convection coming out of PA.

Today has the feeling of something rogue dropping into our area on NW flow that turns into a big day for someone.

Nice picture. It's almost criminal to not be throwing a frog in that water. Looks like some prime bass fishing.

Why aren't we evacuating Arkansas!?

I've found pretty good success freshwater fishing prior to remnants of tropical cyclones coming up these parts. We probably aren't going to see any decent flooding or severe weather from it so might as well try to score a nice day pond hopping from it.

Next storm smells fishy, especially if it winds itself up up too fast.

Given the pressure falls ahead of Laura and increased cloud cover, Saturday AM would be a good day to go fishing early
