  1. Yes. Less than 25% of the events are acceptable and the all but one of the minority that's good is only for the elite forum members in jackpotville.
  2. 12" - 16" of pancake batter followed by 2" to 3" of ZR then a 3 day deep freeze. The icing on the cake would be the event popping up under 12-24 hours.
  3. You can't forecast an ice storm until about 12 to 18 hours out.
  4. When I left the FD around 4:30 31 was fine. We had some weird freezing fog until around 1am and it just slicked everything up.
  5. 97 and 75 and Middleburg Rd in Carroll County have been clusters since last night.
  6. Its legit. Running calls on the western end of the county and its thick. Almost annointed a deer on Springdale Rd.
  7. Legit back end thump in western Carroll County. @mappy might creep towards low end warning event as this pushes through.
  8. @mappy will like this back end...it's solid.
  9. Legit snow in New Windsor. Even Route 31 and 75 are covered.
  10. 1/26/11 and 1/20/16 1/26/11 was an event that busted cold and juiced at the last minute. It was one of the biggest winter power outage events from Richmond to Philadelphia and forever changed how the Federal government looked at telework. Since then OPM and many other public and private agencies have invested heavily in reoutfitting their staff for telework. 1/20/16 was about a half inch of powder falling right at sunset that flash froze. This was the same day the last Blizzard Watch was ever issued by LWX WFO for the 2016 "blizzard" and DOT crews were home resting and planning for the weekend. It reaffirmed for many the reason why early, staggered release was needed because a lot of jurisdictions wanted their staff in all day in anticipation of losing the coming Friday and parts of the next work week.
  11. Accumulating on everything but the main roads here in new windsor. Temp is 31.7
  12. Nonpaved surfaces accumulating, down to 33 in New Windsor.
  13. In New Windsor, Carroll County. Looking west from the fire department and the Catoctin Mts just faded out. Really raw too.
  14. I somehow quoted the wrong post on mobile. Disregard.
  15. Actually, no. The decision is harder to make than you would think. MARC and VRE run only one way because of shared tracking with Amtrak and CSX so there are a lot of rail logistics to iron out. Even with a plan in place, which there is, it takes at least two hours to switch business operations.
  16. 1/7: Federal offices in the Washington, DC area status: Early Departure 4 hour staggered early release all employees must depart no later than 1:00 PM. https://t.co/XNpFS40aXT https://t.co/4UsMzYfwwA
