So....thoughts on today's severe weather potential?

It's specific to Montgomery County, not statewide. I'm actually the program lead for that and was the one interviewed. We currently don't have the capability to get the flood sensor data to the public yet, it's internal to public safety and public works agencies. We are working on a solution to make it public though.

Slight Risk warranted through Friday, IMO. We are in the summer doldrums.

Mid level lapse rates are terrible. The cell over Montgomery County barely got off the ground before it collapsed.

NAM et al seem to favor areas east of I-95 for this week's activity. West of Frederick it looks like very little in the way of precipitation almost.

A few of the CAMs have some convection drifting south to Carroll, Baltimore, Harford, and Cecil counties this evening. Otherwise things look clear for us.

Looks like a fairly straightforward day. Some training thunderstorms with scattered reports of flooding and wet microbursts. Lots of surface CAPE, but the downdraft CAPE and mid level lapse rates aren't too impressive.

My wife decided to ignore my meteorological advice and put our Clydesdale horse out for the night at the barn in Finksburg. We spent close to 2 hours cleaning him up for a competition tomorrow. I hope it doesn't rain. I don't want to rush a wash tomorrow.

Eastern portions of Montgomery County benefitted from some outflow boundaries today. Was in Layhill pouring concrete with @wxmeddler and we got a nice one pass through around 2 pm.

Storms pulsing out and throwing a bunch of boundaries. If we get enough sun, tomorrow could be fun for someone.
