  1. Watch this be the summer everyone struggles to hit 95°.
  2. ^Wonder what make and model that wx station is
  3. Yea when those two cells were maintaining updrafts in an area of limited instability, you knew that was going to be a sign someone was going to win.
  4. If you re-rack the radar data from yesterday, it all started with those two cells in Cumberland that rode an outflow boundary out of Frederick.
  5. Yea it definitely was a sneaky day. We get these events where it looks pretty benign and then you get a lone cell or three that would end up verifying a slight risk and a WW. Other times, it's a textbook setup and the entire subforum whiffs.
  6. ML Lapse rates are poop and the shear is really lacking. This is isolated wet microburst / flooding.
  7. Flash Flood Watch until 10 pm from Carroll west along the Mason-Dixon.
  8. 14 box in baltimore county for several vehicles in flood waters....Ruxton Rd at Circle Rd.
  9. Unusually deep, rolling thunder and a lot of rogue CG in Reisterstown. Our younger cat is growling like a chain saw.
  10. Sustained convection east of I-81 will probably be sparse through 4pm. Despite the ConvT being reached the shear is minimal so it's going to be hard to sustain the updrafts.
  11. 12z balloon from IAD has a Convective Temp of 87°
  12. Given strong insoltation and decent LL but weak ML lapse rates, there definitely is a wet microburst potential today.
  13. Thanks. We tried the launch spot at Prettyboy this weekend and it was absolutely dead. I've head good things about the Beckleysville Rd bridge so we're going to check it out Saturday.
  14. Anybody fish Prettyboy Reservoir that know if any halfway decent shore fishing spots?
  15. Maine has stolen all our heat. Another day in the L 90s there...I need to get up there again.
  16. Naw...half assed cut off low city.
  17. LR GFS and Euro are terrible if you like summer.
  18. Had a hot minute of rain last night and some drizzle around sunrise. Looks like some sun later today?
  19. @wxdude64 is living prrof about what @usedtobe always says about cutoff lows and QPF maxima: they are always too far NE in the numerical guidance.
  20. LWX radar showing a decent uptick in returns between I-64 and I-66. Lower S. MD and NOVA should be good for rain. Noth of there...naso much.
  21. This time last week, the GFS was pushing almost 10" of rain on Baltimore and now it's looking like Charm City will be lucky to see 1/10th of that. If this were winter, this board would be melting down.
