  1. Someone is going to get flooded out later this week. It's not going to be widespread, but if I were Historic EC, I'd be nervous.
  2. Euro popping a 599dm ridge over Ohio River Valley next week.
  3. 86 at DCA as of 2:40 pm despite the river wind. I think we can do it.
  4. 12z Euro / EPS have a 594 / 597 dm ridge building in from TX to Bermuda starting around HR 240.
  5. Sun poking out in Gaithersburg.
  6. Looking for a good wx station with fan aspirate temp sensor. Would like to put the anemometer on the back porch roof and have the temp sensor mounted on the side of the house. Any suggestions are welcome.
  7. Hope we squeak out the 90 today. GOES16 has the southern edge of the low level clouds burning off from S to N. We can do it.
  8. Truly a hit-or-miss day. With SBCAPE well over 4,000 j/kg regionally the risk for numerous wet microbursts existed so the watch box is more than justified. Amazing how it's so varied across the area. In Reisterstown, we've got about 4 or 5 storms bubbling up around us but nada falling from the sky.
  9. Man it would be sick if something triggered right around sunset. Get a nice overnight light show.
  10. Grew up in Philly. Big urban watersheds that flash quickly and have killed folks swimming in the creeks or fishing. The spike on discharge in Frankford Creek right now is something you only see during tropical storms.
  11. SPC issues Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 03:00 UTC Tues, 7/7
  12. 12z IAD RAOB has a ConvT of 91°. Philly hit 91° and things went boom.
  13. Accounts for meso boundaries. While definitely a true lower end slight for today, beefy SBCAPE and DCAPE means someone is gonna get rocked.
  14. 80% of a WW: https://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/md/2020/md1116.html
  15. Landmass boundaries are going to be the initiation mechanism for today.
  16. Without shear to move things along, it's going to be just pulsers with rogue wet microbursts.
  17. Shows up really well on LWX 0.5 degree velocity.
  18. Get topsoil imported and spread it out. Put some lime down to balance the pH and aerate/over seed this fall. Repeat the process next year as well.
  19. It's been awhile since all 3 terminals have hit 100° three days in a row.
  20. Weird thing going on. I have a self watering container on the deck with two eggplants. One plant has ants on itlaying eggs but they're not cutting it up or bothering it otherwise, the other plant isn't even being touched. Really weird stuff.
  21. My tomatoes and squash will love it.
