  1. LWX upping the winds in the warning text for the mason-dixon counties now. Gusts up to 35 mph.
  2. This is very good to see. It seems there is a bit of a residual warm layer but it isn't big and is getting purged pretty quickly.
  3. Don't look now, but the 0.5 degree CC on LWX radar is looking better and there's some yellows starting to show up just to our north across Carroll and Baltimore counties. . .
  4. DC and points north would like the 12z ICON and RGEM and to a lesser extend, the NAMs.
  5. Yup. If we can just get the 850 temps to cool like 2 degrees we'll be sitting pretty.
  6. Yea, if this tucked up near Wallops Island it would've been nice.
  7. Frederick ASOS (FDK) now reporting moderate snow with north winds.
  8. Good to see this. Should be about an hour or two until it hits the I-83 corridor.
  9. Latest 700mb analysis in SPC meso page shows moistening which should continue to promote more effective cloud seeding.
  10. I can't post because I'm mobile, but you can really see the low level jet starting to crank on the 925/850 mb SPC meso analysis. Should see the radar continue to light up.
  11. LWX has extended all the advisories until midnight. The mason dixon counties are now under the winter storm warning through 6am Tues.
  12. Camp David now reporting SN- and BWI has flipped to NW wind. Warming should be ending soon.
  13. Manassas ASOS now reporting light snow. Good sign...temps must be cooling aloft.
  14. Whenever the rates quick up, we flip right to snow and it's quick. When they back off, it's sleet and a mangled occasional flake.
  15. 26/25 in Reisterstown with big flakes starting to mix in with the sleet again.
  16. Significant improvement on all of the NAMS for I-70 north.
  17. 850 low looks like it's trying to close off around the tidewater of Virginia.
  18. Per the SPC mesoanalysis, the 925 low has closed off over the SC/NC border. This should help lock in low level sub freezing air for places that are already below freezing.
