  1. No, but I am equally curious so I am going to buy one and will let you know.
  2. Love my Tempest wx station. Highly recommend.
  3. My weather station comes tomorrow...it pours today. Ironic.
  4. Turkey Branch in Rockville rose 7 feet in <1 hour, Sligo Creek @ Sherrill Dr rose 4ft <1 hr. ~50 waters call between 12pm and 2pm Montgomery, about 20 required some kind of FD action.
  5. Everything you need to know: http://www.raymondcmartinjr.com/weather/2011/26-Dec-10.html
  6. Have it 34 and rain at the start to wipe the salt off the roads...no help from chemistry! Then vodka cold for a week!!
  7. This season is such a low energy bust. There's not even been a decent fish storm with nice satellite presentation.
  8. While I know you cannot advect radar, the regional mosaic appears to be lighting up.
  9. Shipped today, comes Friday. Really excited for this.
  10. I get Vietnam-esque flashbacks from that event.
  11. Someone did a story of October snows greater than 1" at BWI, MDT and DCA. The results were pretty close to 1:1 that showed more than 1" in October with the exception of 1 year (2002-2003?) was warm and well below average.
  12. October snow is a death kiss for a good winter in these parts.
  13. FCPS seems to be pretty on the ball. Other jurisdictions in MD have been looking to them as kind of the state leader in this rapid transition to online education. What's going to be interesting is to see what sticks around for winter days. I can certainly see the 3" - 6" storms become online learning days to cut down the issues. What's going to be interesting are events where there is a forecast of more widespread power or Internet outages, such as ice storms in central or western MD and schools are just closed outright.
  14. Schools are being asked to change ~200 years of instruction practice in under 3 months. We're also finding out what parts of the country had inequitable access to reliable Internet.
  15. I just purchased the Tempest weather station from Weatherflow. The reviews are pretty good and the price is very reasonable at $330. You can enter the discount code, Tempest10off, which saves 10% through Oct 1 I believe. That pays for better shipping. I intend to link the station via their Wi-Fi hub to my Nest thermometer and eventually into Wunderground, which will be nice because we seem to have a bit of a data hole in the Reisterstown area.
  16. Would love to see a 6"-10" Christmas snowstorm this year. Something that covers the ground. It starts right at sunrise and goes all day. Then clears out just after sunset and you get the see that stars. That alone would be great.
  17. This was from the first tornado warned storm in Carroll County yesterday
