  1. 12z NAM is ugly. Dry, cloudy. Would be a complete bust.
  2. I've been burned twice this summer. Hopefully I'm wrong and we get slammed, it's been years since we've had a decent remnants system in Baltimore/DC proper. I will say that if I'm from US 15 west in Maryland, or the WV panhandle there could be some decent rainfall totals aided by terrain so someone out west of here could be in for a fun day tomorrow.
  3. The color ramp looks like WPC's QPF map for D1-3.
  4. Not really sold on this. I'll see what things look like tomorrow morning, but the whole system looks pretty progressive.
  5. Yea. It stings watching us miss out on another good event, but Tomer is a damn good met and his website is amazing.
  6. Big rainmaker coming for y'all. I'm quite jealous. Someone is gonna get absolutely dumped on:
  7. John Hope is rolling in his grave.
  8. Garden starting to wind down for the year. 50% of our tomatoes are done producing, our cucumber plants are finished as well. Ordered collards, beets, garlic for the winter. Hoping to get them in the week of September 12th.
  9. Just nudge everything south by another 20 to 40 miles.
  10. There's some weird dry slot where nothing happens and it settles right in the Baltimore to ESF corridor.
  11. 06Z guidance is extremely disappointing. All the heavy rain up in PA and we have, at best, scraps.
  12. Withing NOLA, its steel and concrete with buttressing. I do not know of any pure earthen levees in NOLA. Earthen levees in that part of the country typically have, at the least, a concrete or packed clay core with grouting to prevent piping and internal failure from water pressure.
  13. Emergency generators for this kind of infrastructure are tested biweekly, and once monthly under load.
  14. Two redundant power feeds were installed post Katrina as well as a power plant. They lost everything.
  15. John Hope would always talk about that on TWC back in the day.
  16. Looks like Ida hit during a full moon after all.
  17. IIRC, that report turned out to be unsubstantiated and was retracted.
  18. According to the 2020 census, 50% of the US population now lives within 50 miles of the coastline. Bad decisions on zoning and growth aided by a population that doesn't care.
