Yup. My dad worked for a water department for almost 30 years and excessive salt application is a bad deal. We've made good strides with being more conservative with application and while necessary for maintaining roads during bad weather, there's always room for improvement. Saltwater contamination of watersheds is not some silly woke thing. It's nearly permanent and has significant economic and environmental issues.

February 2007. Upper Montgomery County into SE Frederick and Carroll had an event in 2018 where 0.3" to 0.4" happened...pulled a bunch of meters off houses and caused fires.

00z NAM implies borderline ice storm for Catoctin Mt. back through HGR.

Good changes on the 12z NAM and it should have the storm in the RAOB network. At the worst, it's stopped the bleeding.

Give me 4 to 6 inches of sleet on snow and we're gonna keep a snowpack for awhile.

Get the 500 low centered over the NC lowlands and we're golden.

Check out the winds at 850 mb...screaming from the SE. That will erode cold air no problem.

Only 1 miss on the EPS, almost everything else is warning criteria snow/sleet I-95 west it seems.
