  1. Curious to see what MRB or HGR look like. They've stayed largely rural and it would be interesting to see if a similar trend exists there.
  2. I'm good with winter...I have a ton of yard work that needs to be done.
  3. 33/31 in Reisterstown with light snow but it's the big cornflake kind of snow. Sticking to everything but the road.
  4. Where are you getting the snow totals from?
  5. Ivan was the ideal tornado producing track for most of our subforum. The only non-tropical cyclone event that came close to that was the remnants of the April 2011 super outbreak.
  6. The 2012 Derecho is probably the highest end severe we can get in these parts. We ten to get big tornado events from tropical systems, such as Ivan an Isaias.
  7. It would be interesting to see a spatial join and make a chloropleth map of members by county.
  8. @mappy, curious to know what kind of map you're leaning towards (dot density, cartogram, heat map, etc.)
  9. From what I'm seeing it is not, but my display can lag up to 30 min.
  10. FYI, avoid Rt. 27 in Mt. Air near I-70. Overturned tractor trailer with hazmat. Possible 6 to 8 hour road closure.
  11. Our "snowpack" is probably gone in the next 2 weeks.
  12. Precip lightened up and we flipped to 100% sleet.
  13. We keep oscillating between snow and snow/IP mix. You might wind up cracking 5" if you can walk that mix line.
  14. Back over to mostly snow in Reisterstown.
  15. 50/50 sleet and snow in Reisterstown. I measured as the changeover began and recorded M2.0" Reisterstown. Have cleaned the snowboard.
  16. Snowflakes becoming rimmed in Reisterstown. M1.5"
  17. Best snow of the winter in Reisterstown. Looks like a legitimate snow event. M1.0"
  18. If you look at PBZ radar, there is some semblance of a meso-low crossing western PA/far northern WV. Might be the reason why we're seeing a bump up in the snow.
  19. My three favorite sites are: Seed Savers Exchange, Baker Creek, and Territorial. All three sites have a great virtual presence and you can get their free catalogs in the mail. If you sign up for their mailing list, the catalog will come sometime in mid-January which really spurs the itch for spring.
