  1. Couple of things we have going in our favor today: 1.) Cloud cover will limit high temperature potential. We might bust a degree or three below guidance. Solar radiation appears pretty minimal as we approach the lunch hour. 2.) Dewpoints in the low to mid 20s will help us wet bulb below freezing pretty quickly. 3.) Soil temperatures are just above freezing, so the ground isn't torched. Let's get this appetizer!
  2. Nice dump of cold air. Legit cross polar flow at the end of the run.
  3. 12z GFS appears to be an inch of liquid equivalent for most of us.
  4. The GFS appears to cave to the Euro/CMC. Solid run for many. Where do I sign?
  5. Latest HRRR tries to nose in a small wedge of ~200j/kg of CAPE and hints at thundersnow.
  6. When you see a closed 700mb low swinging by near or just to the south of you, expect a last minute surprise. Someone could jackpot decently from this.
  7. Almost everyone gets frozen precip on the NAM then we get it to stick around. Nice!

  9. The dewpoint is currently in the upper teens to low 20s regionwide and there are colder temperature advecting in aloft.
  10. Elements for the Sunday -> Monday event are getting better sampled as they enter the North American upper air network.

  14. 23 degrees with steady, light snow in Bittinger, Garrett County.
  15. No, just moisten things up. Then everyone wins.
  16. Euro is impressive. Just slow it down a bit to have it come through overnight.
  17. True, but the Euro/UKMET/EPS/CMC have really been so steady it's hard to disagree with them.
  18. Euro is solid. First legit warning level event for everyone in years. I'm so happy!
  19. Fresh snow + new artic airmass = undercut low temps. I stop relying on ensembles within 48 hours before an event.
