The bust of early March 2001 was the ultimate killer for me. 1-2 feet of snow was widely forecasted within 36 hours of that "event". Then the phasing got screwed up and the storm busted bigly.

By 10:00, the radar trends were obvious and the best of all busts was underway. That was a special night!

Nice write-up. However, you really need to avoid the word “degradation” so early in your analysis. It’s like revealing the name of the killer in a murder mystery within the first paragraph of a novel. I almost lost interest and almost stopped reading your write-up after just a few seconds.

After reviewing this thread and analyzing people’s prognostications, it appears that some people are leaning towards a crap winter, some towards an average winter, and some towards a good winter ahead. I really think that someone is going to be right.

That tornado in 2016 did significant damage to my neighborhood in Woodbine. I am not at home now, but I hope that today’s storm was more forgiving to my neighborhood.

After several hours of snow earlier this afternoon (leading to a whopping 1 inch), the rest of this "storm" has featured rain mixed with occasional sleet. And to think that I was under a Winter Storm Warning this morning. HUGE BUST! Dolly Parton would have been proud.
