  1. I have no idea. I follow a guy who lives there that has a great informative website called mammothsnowman.com. I pull my information from him, and he'll often say during severe storms like this that some of the amounts are estimated.
  2. 28" fell overnight at Mammoth on 2.84" of QPF. High winds are causing fracking of the snow and reducing accumulations somewhat. They may only end up in the 55-80" range as winds continue to increase. There was a gust earlier this morning of 112 mph at the 9600' station.
  3. This is the most accurate public forum post that you have ever made.
  4. If you had any idea how much I spent on last spring's 22 day trip...you wouldn't ask that question.
  5. Visibility in Mammoth Lakes Village is approaching zero. 4-6"/hour rates have arrived in town.
  6. Here's the NWS forecast for the town: Today Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Widespread blowing snow. High near 34. Breezy, with a southwest wind around 25 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 9 to 13 inches possible. Tonight Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Widespread blowing snow. Low around 21. Windy, with a southwest wind around 30 mph, with gusts as high as 55 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 22 to 28 inches possible. Saturday Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Widespread blowing snow. High near 29. Windy, with a southwest wind 30 to 35 mph, with gusts as high as 55 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 16 to 22 inches possible. Saturday Night Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Widespread blowing snow. Low around 17. Windy, with a southwest wind around 30 mph, with gusts as high as 50 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 8 to 12 inches possible.
  7. Village won't get rocked until this evening. Prime time for them is 5pm this evening through tomorrow evening. They'll get at least 3 to 4 feet during that 24 hour period.
  8. That's awesome. I hope you all have a great time. Our family went to WDW over a dozen times, including once when the MLB Winter Meetings were going on at our resort. Sounds like a fantastic trip!
  9. @Blizzard of 93 - what are you waiting for? Go see what Mammoth is all about. Or maybe you'd be bored?
  10. AFD update this afternoon - we might have a triple digit snowfall underway on the mountain: DISCUSSION... CHANGES/KEY POINTS: * Major winter storm on track to bring blizzard conditions to the Sierra, periods of white out conditions even for far western NV valleys Friday night and Saturday (possibly starting as early as the Friday evening commute for the Reno-Carson City area), and strong damaging winds region-wide. * SIERRA SNOW: QPF/Snow amounts have increased if that is even possible. Now looking at 5-10" of liquid along the crest. Along with higher snow ratios, snow amounts will approach and even exceed 10 feet along the crest with multiple feet down into Sierra communities.
  11. It has been snowing lightly on and off the past 90 minutes in town - there are multiple stream issues it seems. I checked about 30 minutes ago and it was showing as "live" but it was clearly night time. It's also been buffering a lot which is rare. NWS Reno upped snowfall totals significantly - now calling for a minimum of 55" in town and a minimum of 80" on the mountain. Worst will be tomorrow evening through midday Saturday.
  12. Another thing about that Euro run - really nice stout HP (1040mb) in a pretty sweet spot as the storm approaches. It just simply isn't cold enough...
  13. That...is one wonky ass progression. Euro has a relatively weak LP meander over WV/VA for like 24+ hours before it jumps to Erie. I'm going to say that this run is probably not the most likely outcome. LOL
  14. MIght not really get cranking in the village for a few more hours. I just find this type of stuff fascinating. Has to be cool to be in town and watch it move in/down from the mountain.
  15. Watching a blizzard moving into the Sierra is kinda cool - this is time sensitive, but below are 4 live feeds, first at about 8100', next is at 8900', then 9600', last one is the summit at 11000'. Note how the live conditions deteriorate as you move up in elevation and away from town - about 4 feet is expected in town with over 6 feet up on the hill over the next 60 hours: https://www.mammothmountain.com/on-the-mountain/mammoth-webcam/the-village https://www.mammothmountain.com/on-the-mountain/mammoth-webcam/main-lodge https://www.mammothmountain.com/on-the-mountain/mammoth-webcam/mccoy-station https://www.mammothmountain.com/on-the-mountain/mammoth-webcam/the-summit
  16. @Bubbler86- Ralphie says to throw your car buckle as far as you can for next weekend.
  17. Sunny and 38. Not too bad in sun when the winds let up...pretty darn chilly in the shade.
  18. Nooner GFS also tracks a low under us next weekend...actually an even better track, but it's a good deal weaker, and thus...we rain in the southern half of PA at least.
  19. The 10th seems a little soon, but your point nonetheless is correct.
  20. The only shot on the 10th is for something to go under us and completely bomb out - to that point, here's the money panel. A 987mb low over Vineland NJ:
  21. After seeing this morning's GFS output for the 10th, I question @Blizzard of 93 and his commitment to providing snow maps!
  22. .30" of rain at the casa. Looks like another quarter inch-plus tomorrow night into Saturday.
