  1. I have had a T total since the middle of February. MAG mentioned February 17th earlier, that is the last time I had more than flurries. And that day was a .2" squall.
  2. Wilderness Lodge is #2 for me on the 12 resorts I've stayed at. Top 5 for me personally: 1. Contemporary 2. Wilderness Lodge 3. Beach Club 4. Polynesian 5. Boardwalk Inn I've also stayed at all 3 All Stars, Pop Century, Caribbean Beach, Port Orleans Riverside and Art of Animation. Never made it to Animal Kingdom Lodge as of yet.
  3. It was my dream to stay there just one time since I was a child - finally, I made it happen in 2016. We stayed in the Tower with a Theme Park View. As Bubbler mentions above, it is ridiculously expensive. However, I could sit on my bed and watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks without moving. It was an amazing stay and I absolutely love the Contemporary. It far exceeded my wildest hopes. Edit: We stayed for 6 nights and I had a 35% off offer that made it...more "tolerable" to my budget. It was a "regular" (not club level) room that regularly went for somewhere around $600/night back then before my 35% off code.
  4. Urgent...Spring Weather Message NWS Maytown - Adams - Blair - Clearfield - Cumberland - Dauphin - Franklin - Lancaster - Lebanon - Schuylkill - York The National Weather Service in Maytown PA has issued a... Potted Plant Warning - effective on March 21st from 4:20am through 9am and again on March 22nd from 4:20am until 9am. Temperatures are expected to drop below freezing during the time that the warning is in effect. Those who partake should plan on storing all of their pot and other herbal plants inside to prevent freezing. The warning does not include Perry County, whose residents already grow their pot indoors.
  5. Apparently MU has been receiving a lot of questions about how much cloud cover there will be at 3:20pm on April 8th. Are people really that...naïve?
  6. Did you go to the HUGE Ron Jon shop in Cocoa Beach? The look on our kid's faces when we took them there for the first time was priceless.
  7. Our daughter's future in laws live in Wyndemere. We got to spend some time with them back in December while we were down at Universal. They shared a lot about the central FL experience.
  8. Oh, my "thanks" was a sincere one. I knew better but forgot.
  9. Interesting perspective - we've done 17 WDW vacations. All onsite except for one. That one was one more than necessary, I vowed never to stay off property again. I felt like I had to be in the "bubble" as they refer to it to enjoy the magic fully. Having said that...now that our kids are all adults and starting their families...we've talked about getting an offsite rental home so that we can all be together on future trips.
  10. Yes, and I knew that too. Thanks for correcting me. It's tomorrow night that we're likely to get a freeze. I still haven't reached freezing since the morning of March 1st.
  11. It didn't used to be that way, but it sure is now. Universal today is a far better vacation experience.
  12. That's about the 9th inning on Opening Day. Not good. Though - what should we expect when MLB schedules regular season games in March and idiots like me line up to buy tickets? LOL
  13. Low of 34 this morning in Maytown. Disappointed that we didn't get to freezing. On to tonight.
  14. We stayed there 10 days after Pop Century opened. We were the first family in the room that we were assigned. We were in the 1960s buildings. Our daughter was just 2 in 2004 and she loved the Hippy Dippy Pool.
  15. Windy and 38 at 8:45pm. Temp dropped from 48 to 38 between 1pm and 4pm and has not budged since.
  16. MU tripling down on this cool shot being short lived: A deep trough, or dip in the #jetstream, over the eastern U.S. will promote cool weather through the weekend, but temps should still only avg. around 5°F below normal. Oh, and this isn't going to last. By next week, a pattern reversal will support a flip back to above-avg. temps.
  17. The weather station down the road from work can't be in a more rural location around here, and it's reading 45 right now. MDT is in the chill zone!
  18. This...is exactly what I was looking for. I have this typed and saved to my weather file. Dated 3/31/2024. Signed and authorized by MJS, weather accountant.
  19. MU getting a littler overdramatic this morning: (1/2) Following Sunday's cold frontal passage, NW winds are ushering a much chillier air mass into the mid-Atlantic States. An upper-level disturbance moving through the Commonwealth will cause skies to turn mostly cloudy in southeastern PA, northern MD & the LSV after midday.. (2/2) High temps will be around 5-10°F below avg. & range from the low-to-mid 40s N/W of I-78/81 to around 50°F in the I-95 corridor. Due to persistent, 12-25 mph winds with gusts up to 35 mph, wind chills will be in the 30s most of the time. Time to break out the coats again!
  20. How much do you think we can shave off the departure by the end of the month?
  21. How does a low running interstate 80 in Ohio and a high due east off the Atlantic manage to snow anywhere in PA? Not a critique - honest question. That doesn't look like a snow set up to me in early January let alone late March.
  22. 37 for the low in Maytown this morning. Nice short sleeve polo kind of day.
