  1. This year, it was roughly early January to mid-late February. By the end of February spring was arriving and even on cooler days the sun is higher and the house is warmer.
  2. I sure was - and his comments were not as inflammatory in those days as they would be today. Just the way it was. I often feel like announcers that are widely despised, I end up liking. For example, cocky or not, I'm a huge Joe Buck fan. Joe and Troy are my absolute favorites today. A lot of people can't stand Joe...I get it, I think he's top notch. I kind of like Romo...sometimes he forces moments that aren't there. In general, announcers are much more bland today than they were years ago. From Keith Jackson's "whoa Nellie" to Dick Enberg's "OH MY" - they were so distinctive in their style. Today, outside of a few...you could watch so many of them and there's nothing really that sets them apart.
  3. NBC aired AFC games every Sunday at 1pm back in the 70s. Some of favorite "first" TV announcers were Charlie Jones, Don Criqui and Jim Simpson. The Bills were often on my set during that time period. Amazing to think now how secondary the NFL was back then compared to MLB. Lots of teams had a hard time selling out games. Don't worry though - the Cowboys would come on CBS at 4pm. All NFL games were played at 1pm and 4pm on Sunday with one Monday night game that was on ABC at a ridiculous 9pm. I had to do some parent schmoozing to be able to watch an entire game on school nights.
  4. I use that feature during the 6 week non-AC period.
  5. 65/365 for me. I spend a lot in the summer but save in the winter.
  6. I must be a bad influence on my neighbors - when it was in the mid to upper 70s back in March my neighborhood was buzzing with AC units running.
  7. I was on vacation last week and had our guy out for the spring maintenance check! A little different experience...he asked me how many days my AC took a break over the winter.
  8. 61.1 was the lowest I got overnight. AC won't be off until Octo...Nove...December.
  9. For basically the past 25 years I would watch my horrible excuse of a baseball team give away game after game, year after year. There were times when I honestly thought that I would never see the Orioles turn the table in my lifetime. Selfishly...it's weirdly gratifying to see my team on the good end now. It's been a long, painful ride. Still no World Series appearance since I was 18.
  10. That's an alarming day 6 probability outlook. Geesh.
  11. 73 with partial sun at 1:30pm - dare I say it almost feels muggy out there?
  12. I'll raise you 10 - an even 70 in Maytown at 12:05pm.
  13. LOL, they had a lot of balls to run that publicly.
  14. I'm confused by the talk about potential flooding - WPC has our area getting about 1" of rain total over the next 7 days and CTP has me getting less than 1". What am I missing? MU did say yesterday that he wasn't concerned about flooding whatsoever. Edit: WPC now has our area getting a total of .50" - 1.00"
  15. 0.00" of rain and 57 this morning. Frankly, surprised that I dropped below 60 given the late evening temps.
  16. He is one of my favorites - not sure how many people binge watch mets on YouTube, but I do with this guy. The 1993 Superstorm is a favorite of mine along with of course, the 2011 Tuscaloosa Tornado.
  17. I saw a few of those in our previous development...they were pretty much useless in a matter of weeks after they were put up. In-ground units built to last are built to destroy wallets.
  18. Sunshine and 74 at 12:50pm. A few thermometers might push 80 in a few hours.
  19. It looks like there's an area of clearing making a beeline for NW PA? On the GOES satellite it looks like the cloud deck will be gone in an hour or so. Maybe I'm wrong.
