  1. On one of our annual weekend trips to see the Steelers years ago...I think it was 2012? We went to the Pitt-Louisville game on Saturday before the Steelers game on Sunday. Talk about a stark contrast in atmosphere...my son and I were in the upper level pretty much by ourselves. I think I remember they announced somewhere around 40,000 but it seemed like far fewer. Even at 40,000 that was over 25,000 short of capacity. Not a great gameday experience. Pitt really would benefit greatly from having a true home field onsite.
  2. Three Rivers was demolished years ago. Pitt did play there for one season (2000) before moving to Heinz Field.
  3. Pitt doesn't have a stadium. They have to schlep across the city to play at the Steelers home. Pitt wants to build on-campus but space is a huge issue. The basketball arena was built on the former site of old Pitt Stadium.
  4. Safely tucked inside the Moderate Drought zone by 1.0945 miles...
  5. Thank you! And to your comment about our current streak being 17 days, that's why I threw up the WPC map for the next 7. Assuming we're dry until this time next week...we'd potentially be just a few days away from unchartered territory.
  6. If someone can find a definitive answer I'd appreciate it - I've been searching climo records trying to determine what is the longest streak of days without rainfall in Lancaster. I found one website that said it's 29 days but I don't know that i trust the source. Having said that...this is starting to feel unprecedented:
  7. 72 here as well which is the coolest noon temp of the week. Also, this: (Courtesy MU) This is what a Pacific Jet Extension looks like, and ensemble models agree on its occurrence in early #November. As if it wasn't warm enough already, PJEs often flood the U.S. with mild, Pacific air, and I expect this case to be no exception! The warm-biased pattern continues..
  8. Personally, I think that posts that have any hint or attachment to political views should probably be saved for OT and not shared in our thread. It's an emotionally charged period of time and I'd hate to see our group come unglued as there are wildly different viewpoints.
  9. Right you are. At home, I only managed a 51 yesterday morning, today I got down to 44.
  10. Potential for a near record warm Halloween and no sustained fall weather until possibly the 2nd week of November: https://www.millersville.edu/weathercenter/forecasts/weather-discussion.php
  11. At least in Maytown the temp has leveled off, even dropped a bit over the past hour: https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/KPAMARIE28?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTAAAR1aUZn05v6EL1SCu83D6YWAz4KB0xPA7zBHapk7ZxcoZfWMxfMgsX9YEUY_aem_AatgGdtB3HDmy_lQiEQW3p1bDKQzlUbvSccn8VpHsQ_8zcjQ2DxBPNU21ROdUrVrozfMvldDScho9lY6LgyGK0dL
  12. I saw Disney was the first choice but the ESPN complex has too many events scheduled to fit an MLB schedule into it. Tampa has previously played a few regular season games there.
  13. Sunny and 84 at home, up to 85 down the road at the airport. It's on the threshold from going from warm to...almost hot.
  14. I wish I knew. But I agree with you that the GM needs to go and probably a few more in the front office as well. I also wish Josh Harris would sell and a new owner would come in that you know, actually cares about Philly. Instead we have a clown that spends his time in DC at his Commanders games.
  15. Maybe tomorrow? Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service State College PA 648 AM EDT Tue Oct 22 2024 .SYNOPSIS... * Dry spell and summer-like, near-record warmth into Wednesday * Turning breezy Wednesday into Thursday with an increased wildfire risk and limited opportunity for rain * Noticeable cool down back to seasonal levels with mainly dry weather expected from late week through the last weekend of October
  16. MU talkin' drought: Diurnal variations.. or the difference between the daily high and low temp.. have been impressive since Friday, & we'll see more of the same through midweek. Yesterday's diurnal variation at@millersvilleuwas an astounding 40°F (low: 35°F, high: 75°F), & today's may be the same! Clear skies, very light winds, longer nights and very dry ground are contributing to our massive diurnal variations in temperature. Through #October21, a measly 0.04" of rain has fallen at @millersvilleu, and drought is engulfing much of the nation.
