  1. Can the subforum snatch a snowy winter from the jaws of La Nina? The countdown begins now.
  2. Uhh... Nah. I'm not touching that. But...MU said that he expects dry weather through October minus any tropical activity.
  3. It is amazing how much drier WPC has gone in just 24 hours: This represents a HUGE reduction in QPF for all of PA, but especially so over the southern 3rd of the state.
  4. We have been watering every day now for the past 2 weeks. We had gone away for several days, came back and our flowers were dead and the veggies weren't much better.
  5. Negligible - a matter of a few feet. The airport station is actually a few feet higher.
  6. You'll probably appreciate this nugget of weather..."oddity" - yesterday, the airpark on Donegal Springs Road dropped to 49.1 for the low, which was 4.7 degrees higher than my 44.4 reading. We are separated by 2/10ths of a mile, and on clear, calm cool mornings the airpark typically runs 1-3 degrees lower than me. And yet yesterday...they were nearly 5 full degrees warmer. Huh.
  7. Marquee matchup tonight: 2 pitchers with a combined record of 1-13 with ERAs either side of 7.00. O's better be ready to score runs. Maybe a lot of runs.
  8. Much bigger turnaround over here - 44 this morning, 75 currently.
  9. Miami once again owns the state it seems. I want UCF to rise up again!
  10. Please understand that my reading this morning in no way affected my decision to leave the house in my short sleeve polo without any sort of jacket. Still a long way to go for that nonsense.
  11. Very surprised to see these readings - somehow Maytown made it down to 44 this morning.
  12. Out back grilling and the weather is perfect. 72, sun and a breeze on 9/2. Gorgeous Labor Day!
  13. Indeed, this week is shaping up to be one of the finest first weeks of September in years. It's gorgeous out there.
  14. You're not wrong. I have records kept from 1976 to today - there are a healthy number of lows in the 30s in my hood from late August and the following weeks. Snow fell as early as the first 2 weeks of October on 2 occasions. (Including a World Series snow in Baltimore on October 9th, 1979) Imagine it snowing in Baltimore that early today. We all freaked out when it snowed here 3 weeks later for the Halloween snow. And it really didn't feel that special at the time. September has definitely become more of a summer month over time, at least that's my opinion. Now April, on the other hand...
  15. I just experienced 30 minutes of lightning and thunder. And not one drop of rain.
  16. My forecasted 1-2" of rain 24 hours out for this weekend resulted in .03" of actual rainfall. Yes, convection comes with the usual disclaimers but I see no reason to look at models other than identifying potential trends for temps and general opportunities for precip. And then, assume the worst. LOL As you've said repeatedly, flood watches come and go with very little rain to show for them.
  17. Hyde has made a lot of bad moves. There are decisions managers make that are easy to second guess after the fact when they don't work out. Hyde though, had made a lot a lot of moves that cause people to scream before the situation even plays out. He has not been good. And I don't think that's unfair to say.
