  1. '95 and '97 both had big heat waves. At least at LNS the temps were a bit higher in 97. (though '95 I think was more oppressive.) LNS's all time record is 107. July record is 104...
  2. Yep, thanks for clarifying... Can't remember the year (stuff like this happens at my age) but there was a July heatwave back in the 90s that will be tough to beat. I remember working on a Saturday morning and LNS was 96 at 9am. Ninety freaking six. I think we ended up at a buck o four that day. Dews were outrageous as well. That...was miserable. Edit: It was 1997. LNS had consecutive days over 100, on one of which it was 96 at the 10am reading.
  3. Thank you! 100% agree with every word penned right here... Just for fun, and to prove my total ignorance, here are my guesses for highest recorded temps as we experience the wave: THV: 99 MDT: 96 LNS: 97
  4. If we stay dry during the midweek period I suppose we could make a run at it...my personal feeling is we max out around 95-96 but we'll see.
  5. We are now entering the hottest 10 day period of the year based on the long-term average.
  6. Had a few raindrops on our walk this afternoon...totally unexpected. Looks like July weather is coming this week. Not what I want but certainly nothing all that unusual.
  7. 1.6 here. Just took my wife to the Jigger Shop in Gretna and the standing water between Elizabethtown and there was crazy!
  8. It's still way out there but we could potentially see some decent rain later next week.
  9. First rain of the day produced 1.2" here in 25 minutes.
  10. It'll be interesting to see what happens with all of that moisture in the days that follow...
  11. I watch videos of snowstorms that people post on YouTube. There are some great ones of the Weather Channel's coverage of the Blizzard of 93.
  12. Tolerable is a good word...I "tolerated" it all afternoon long while I was picking sugar peas and other goodies from my garden...and muttering the entire time.
  13. Personally I thought today was far more uncomfortable than I thought it was going to be. Oh well...it's time for the summer weenies to have their time of happiness.
  14. Looking at radar I can see how certain areas get missed totally while others are hit repeatedly...
  15. Man...you must have just missed it around noon. Red Lion got hammered. I've been around 81 or so here for the past 3 hours.
  16. Looks like @CarlislePaWx is getting the goods this afternoon...
  17. Just picked up .4" from a cell. I was telling my wife on our walk this morning that this is the kind of day where some areas might not see much of anything today while a few spots might pick up a few inches.
  18. Just under 1" here, about the same duration. @daxx It looks like you took it on the chin...
  19. Not a very clean long-term forecast...shower and thunderstorm chances of varying likelihood for the remainder of the week and weekend.
  20. It's the same temperature at noon today as it was at 7:45am yesterday. 76 officially here and it feels incredible!
  21. I had to smile reading this...I can't tell you how many people I heard yesterday afternoon say those exact 3 words...
