  1. Looks like the winds are still a couple of hours away? I thought we were to be blowin' in the wind by this point...
  2. THAT is a very impressive ensemble mean at this range. If that ain't a good honking i don't know what is... We've had so many long range threats this winter turn into turds. Let's hope this one locks in and gets better. There are things to be cautiously excited about...but yeah...
  3. Umm...you must not be an avid kite-ist like my wife and I. Do you have any idea what those kind of winds would do to a kite? We're looking for 10-15 mph optimally.
  4. Oh. That's a game changer. Well, a lot of people get hung up driving across that bridge...combination of height, turns, narrow lanes and low railings are enough to have people stationed on both sides to drive people across in their cars.
  5. That might be the most difficult 4.5 miles of driving you've done in your life yet. I drove across it once when I was 18...I was heading from an O's game over to Rehoboth to join my family on vacation. Got to the bridge just minutes before a severe thunderstorm hit. I was extremely naive at the time and didn't realize how horrible that trip would have been if i was 5 minutes later.
  6. I just don't have a good comeback for that. lol One concern I have in the coming weeks is the sheer number of systems being modeled. I just hope they don't cause interference with each other and muck something up. I kinda remember that happening a few times previously where there just wasn't enough space/distance for one discreet wave to blow up. That, and we're still largely in a progressive pattern. Thoughts?
  7. It's time. And then when @Blizzard of 93 posts those pretty colored snow maps they'll actually all be snow!
  8. State of the snowpack: I reached 51.4 for my high today (GFS you suck) and I have just over 3" in the front yard (faces east) and 1.5" in the back yard. (faces west) Had we not had so much water in that pack I'd have nothing left.
  9. Bingo! There's your biggie...I got 18" so it's possible we can both be happy.
  10. I'm not onboard anything yet but I'm sure every one of us would feel better if we got Icon'd.
  11. So...apparently the 12z Euro today was showing somethin' cookin' at the end of it's run. (time period matches the FV3)
  12. Fringed. @bubbler86 @Cashtown_Coop Once gain the snow mecca of PA...looking at your basic 3.5' dump.
  13. lol...Brian (daxx) and I HATE snow maps but even I was going to post that one.
  14. Honestly...truly...in March, if it's going to snow, then let's go big so we can enjoy it for at least 12 hours. I also am fully aware that with a few exceptions, if my area jackpots then most likely you and other posters up north and west will likely get screwed. (at least to some extent) That's what made 3/13/1993 so special...Philly got nearly 1' and pretty much statewide it was a bomb. If I was guaranteed at least a foot with mixing so that everyone else in this forum got hammered...sign me up right now. Besides, a big, phased monster would be awesome to track... Can you all imagine what this website would be like if anything like '93 happened again?
  15. True that. Susky has been angry a lot since last summer. I believe the river has reached caution stage at Marietta at least once every month since last July. At least it seems like it. It was just within 3' or so of flood stage in the past week or two.
  16. Earlier this morning in the previous thread I mentioned 3 time periods to watch coming up. 2/27, 3/2-3/3, and somewhere around 3/5-3/7. Of those 3 it appears that the 2 in early March might hold the most promise. Hopefully at least 1 of those works out because all indications point to an abrupt end to winter around 3/10. Then again...has their ever been a winter with more chaos and uncertainty in the long range?
  17. @canderson That's going to bring down the last remaining trees on Front Street...
  18. At least 3 viable opportunities to end this season with a bang. Let's do this.
  19. I remember that storm painfully well. It didn't snow down here near the Mason/Dixon line either. I was 14 at the time and thought I'd be traumatized for life.
  20. Greetings from Lancaster county PA...I have family that lives in Lewes (Bay Breeze off King's Highway) and I always root for your area to get nice storms. I come down to visit at least twice of year and must say that I love that town. Here's hoping you guys do well with this!
