  1. Ended up with...a shower. ZERO wind with the actual shower, some winds now that the line has passed. Overall, it rained harder and was windier multiple times earlier today.
  2. Lots of thunder now as it approaches. Very little break between rumbles.
  3. The last time you posted in this thread was in February a few years ago. We had a confirmed touchdown close to here then.
  4. The center of that bow is squaring me and daxx straight up...
  5. Lancaster county is a severe magnet. The guy who wants this the least is probably gonna get the worst...
  6. There were gravity waves over far eastern PA and the Delmarva earlier - Delaware seashore areas had winds to hurricane force. Would that have impacted winds adversely here?
  7. While I have studied the weather a lot, there are many even here that will forget more than I'll ever know. One thing about my weather passion is I used to keep very detailed records to supplement my memory of significant weather events dating back to the early 1970s. That, and having a good knowledge of my local climate based on many years of watching, observing and remembering how events unfold enables me to do okay. If you want sound meteo answers to questions we have @MAG5035 who is an outstanding met. We also have some very good amateur "mets" to help you out. If you have general weather questions relating to weather events from the past or looking for some insight on what MIGHT happen - I and others will be happy to engage in discussion.
  8. Welcome to the forum! Storms down in WV already look nasty and they have a ways to go before they reach us... Jon! Stop this nonsense - it's not going to rain again until tomorrow night.
  9. Areas of showers have developed over the LSV (it's currently raining here) although the sky has brightened considerably. What impact, if any will this area of showers moving through now have on later storm development? Sun is now visible here.
  10. Pretty good lightning and thunder here around 4:45am.
  11. That was the event that drove my fear of severe weather to a whole new level. I was 19 at the time and at the point where I, like most at 19, feel invincible. I started seeing images coming out of western PA that evening and suddenly realized that I wasn't in control. That was the day that every severe event in PA was and is measured against.
  12. Thanks...sounds like an ominous setup. I don't feel any better knowing that our Texas guy is playing this up.
  13. Is the primary threat tomorrow from a squall line, discreet supercells or a combination?
  14. I gained so much respect for that guy back during the big tornado that went right through Tuscaloosa several years ago. That whole area is blessed to have him.
  15. I hate wind. That is all. Happy Easter everyone!
  16. Thank you, much appreciated! I had approximately 5 minutes of +SN
  17. You're not kidding! Huge area in slight risk with a large area in the middle under a moderate risk. Horst is already playing up the severe possibility here for Monday.
  18. Anyone have a radar loop from last evening's "event?" I was in bed watching the Sopranos when that thing went through...I wasn't paying attention to the weather at all, when I went to bed it was clear with light winds.
  19. I don't know...for a few minutes I was legitimately concerned. The winds kept getting stronger...stronger...my entire house was shaking last night for at least 10 minutes. I had about 5 minutes of rain and then it quickly flipped to a whiteout of snow. It was a weird combination of awe, excitement and fear, lol. That was something to remember...
  20. I might have been wrong all the way around...it might not be a Turkey Hill cow. I guess you would know since you're there.
