  1. Horst has nothing good to say about snow this morning as he's anticipated. Says warm air aloft wins and his low accumulation numbers are most likely...Lancaster and York 1", Harrisburg up to 4". All snow is north of I-80.
  2. Reading your response, I remember a storm that came on a Saturday morning while I was still in high school. At the time I lived just outside of Millersville, and was at the high school that morning for basketball. I remember going into the gym with a forecast of 4"-8" and coming out 2 hours later to a driving rainstorm. I was crushed...until my dad came home. He worked just across the river in York county near Hallam. As the crow flies it might have been 7 or 8 miles from our house. He pulls in the driveway shortly after I get home and gives me a weird look. Turns out there was 5" of snow at his shop and when left it was SN+. He said the Susquehanna was literally the dividing line between rain and snow. That happened in the winter of '81 or '82 and I don't ever recall anything like that happening before or since.
  3. There was a storm in 2000 that was forecast to dump 2' and we ended up partly cloudy. Horst was calling for 6"-12" and he was the lowest bust. I can't recall a bust due to getting rain and not snow. Usually our bad busts were total whiffs.
  4. Wording for Lancaster and York was dropped from 3-6 to 1-5.
  5. Again...depends on location. Lancaster was cut from 4" down to 2"-3"
  6. Horst calling for snow to arrive around 3pm and mix with sleet by 6pm. Hope you good people north of the toll road hang on to snow a lot longer.
  7. Exactly. How is someone getting 16" of snow AND "a significant portion of the event" ice? Is he expecting 4" of QPF?
  8. I put very little stock in my point and click but right now I'm hugging the crap out of it. 4"-8"!
  9. It is a good, concise summary. It's very well written.
  10. DT's map doesn't look bad though I wonder how the snow bulls eye also gets a major ice storm?
  11. I think they are too...and it sounds like they're amounts are awfully close to...mine!
  12. Honestly, what is the percentage of big storms that hit on weekends? It's incredible. I can remember 2/10/2010 being midweek, but we sure have gotten most on weekends.
  13. 17 year old daughter just asked if I'm up to take her to Roundtop to get some shreds in tomorrow night since I already told her she wasn't driving over there. So...Father of the year or do I play it smart? I told her not to plan on going. It won't be safe (translation - I'll be weenie-ing out)
  14. Look at that cold wedge running down the 81 corridor into VA.
  15. I'm home and i have 36.2 here. Almost all of last night's snow is history.
  16. If anyone deserves to be jackpotted it's the PIT to UNV gang.
  17. I'm not sure what fan of winter weather complains when their house is under a WSW. I'm sure not one of them. Maybe Ji.
  18. Wow. I didn't see that coming. I'm not complaining...
  19. C'mon buddy, the only one that said that was...me. You can call me out. For what it's worth, the cloud deck has lifted here at work in the past 30 minutes and there are a few dim glimpses of sun. Actually I'd say about 25% of what we got has melted here, we'll see what happens...
  20. That...and he actually moved the 3"-6" contour SOUTH from yesterday. (I'm now in the 3-6 zone...barely, but within it)
  21. I agree with you on the gradient...except I'll say 2" - 6" within 12 miles. Should be fun to watch it unfold!
  22. Hot off the press (with track of LP included) He was saying Monday it would cross Lancaster county.
