  1. These types of systems usually arrive earlier than expected and end even quicker...I would not be shocked if the precip is essentially out of here by sunrise.
  2. I agree with all of that...I was surprised more by the timing as this looks to be a predominately nighttime event to me. I think we might have some leftovers early tomorrow but the balance of the day seems dry, windy and mild.
  3. Wait...we're talking about an event tomorrow? From what I'm seeing this looks to be a solid rain event (LSV) from this evening through the overnight with just a leftover shower early AM tomorrow. What am I missing? From what I can see the LSV should easily reach the 50s before the arrival of the cold front...
  4. I was reading Don Sutherland's post this morning in the NYC thread and if he's right, a coating might be a huge win to round out this "winter"... But hey, flukes happen!
  5. On the bright side, this same old pattern is at least bringing you SOME snow.
  6. Which side of State Road 96 east do you prefer? I still think March might produce. Too soon to give up, that's for sure.
  7. It's been remarkable how many mornings this winter have been warmer than our normal daily high. I alluded to this a couple of weeks ago, the really anomalous departures this winter have been the nighttime lows in relation to the afternoon high temperatures. Last night was what...a +20 departure?
  8. Fly into Denver and head up into the mountains...they've been getting crushed. If you want to stay in the east you'll have to go to interior NNE.
  9. Correct about the Euro - really backed off on the cold shot this weekend. Everything else winter-related has failed so the cold might as well too?
  10. Our hyacinths are up as well. Front of our house looks like April.
  11. For those interested, 5 confirmed tornadoes in the LWX forecast area yesterday morning. All of them between the M/D and DC. How often in the height of severe season does a weather office in our area on the country have 5 confirmed twisters on the same day? Obviously it happens...but what an exceptionally rare event yesterday.
  12. Agreed. Expectations need to be seriously in check with this threat...way more reasons why this fails than succeeds.
  13. Agree with you for sure on keeping hope alive. I'll be tracking through March.
  14. Respectfully...I don't like any of those maps Blizz...never want to be on the southern fringe when the trend all winter long has been for storms to trend north. I remain optimistic that we score before season's end but I'm not sure this will be the one.
  15. Lost power at least 3 times here at work. All in the past hour.
  16. My temp has dropped 13 degrees in the past 90 minutes. Down to 39 now.
  17. Man, a lot of damage reports coming in from Maryland too. Looks like the show starts here in the next hour.
  18. You deserve it...hope you get a nice thump before it lifts out. Nice bow echo moving across the M/D right now...
  19. I'm just trying to figure out if we'll have lightning and thunder down here later tonight. Enjoy the snow for those who get it!
  20. Ice, ice baby... You should easily fall to 27 or 28 with that dewpoint.
  21. I keep hearing those words in my mind, mostly based on how bad it's been and with seemingly little hope going forward. I'm certainly NOT one to wear snow goggles...I just don't think we're done yet. In fact I'm expecting more than just one more snow event. I only say that because we shouldn't be lacking for opportunities and at some point I think the puck has to bounce our way a time or two. We'll see...
  22. I did see that...but was too disheartened by the weekend fail to mention it.
  23. I was just checking and I can't find one model that's showing ANYTHING. Literally every model completely lost it simultaneously. Must have been sampling overnight? At least most in here have a WWA for tonight. They can have it, don't need freezing rain...
  24. Despite everything that's happened (or not happened) this winter, I'm actually surprised to see this. Hopefully it comes back...but yeah...
  25. Most of my 25 minute drive home from work follows the river, and I'm about 1.5 miles away from it. My temp did rise 4 degrees in the final mile or so approaching home.
