  1. I'm concerned that this is gonna play out as I though a few days ago. Some areas are going to get a lot of water the next couple of days and the extended looks wet as well. Bubbler - I hope the Euro is right.
  2. It was an historic miss for me today. Shady Maple, eh? I know and feel your pain now.
  3. Speaking of getting missed - I was watching a small, but intense line of storms move out of York county directly at me. Lightning was flashing, thunder was roaring and the sky was dark. Very dark. That thing got just about over me, split, and re-consolidated about 2 miles to my east. I do not believe a single drop fell on my yard. It was a pretty bizarre thing to watch unfold. That happened because yesterday I wished for a few dry days. I got what I asked for. Time to go out and water the garden now.
  4. That was quite an event...fortunately, the very worst spared the city of Chicago. A lot of the severe damage was west of town and particularly back in western Illinois and Iowa.
  5. Looks like the latest that MU has hit 90 was on October 7th, 2007. A few mid 80s in November over the years and the warmest it's been in December was 78 on December 5th, 2001. (though we reached 76 on December 29th, 1988!)
  6. In areas that aren't all that hot, that argument could be made, sure. Certainly not here in the heat belt...
  7. I need to make a point of visiting the lovely village some day. It sounds so...lovely.
  8. Make it 34 days. Just hit 90 on the nose. (some stations surrounding me are already at 91-92)
  9. Where exactly the cold front stalls and sets up a boundary for waves of low pressure to run along it will separate the Haves from the Have Nots, as Bubbler so eloquently says. That setup helps explain why the EC looks like a slider.
  10. 33rd day of the season for me (32nd day at Lancaster) over 90. High today was 94.2
  11. Thanks for posting that - I saw that picture earlier today and couldn't find it to post.
  12. I've been following it all day. Seeing a lot of reports of unprecedented damage across Iowa...some areas are apparently look like a war zone. This is almost entirely from straight line winds, though there have been/are a few tornado warnings.
  13. Incredible, scary derecho plowing through the midwest today and it's bearing down on Chicagoland now. Many reports of winds > 100 mph today in Iowa and Illinois already and it's maintaining it's strength as it approaches the "Windy City"
  14. I hate the Phillies with every bone in my body, so I can guarantee they'll beat up on the O's.
  15. I am a HUGE Penn State football fan, I live and die with them and give the Orioles a run for my favorite sports team, period. I was already down on football this fall because what makes Penn State special was already going to be missing - 106,572 fans tailgating and cheering like none other. Even Kirk Herbstreit has gone on record as saying that a PSU football home game cannot be duplicated anywhere else in the country, which I'm sure went over really well in Columbus. Having football in an empty or nearly empty Beaver Stadium would have been depressing. Just can it altogether I say. Back to the weather - 93 here now. Forecast high was 92. Here we go again...
  16. @Bubbler86 Appreciate the temp map, it is fascinating to look at some of the town to town variations. BTW, there is a 94 in Lanco almost directly over where I work...
  17. Yes sir, could be very soggy here in a few days. Might be an interesting month for rainfall totals with me already sitting well over 7" to date.
  18. You would sort of think it would be hotter where the weather has been drier...apparently not.
  19. I'm 3 ahead of you, lol. Already 91.2 here. Lancaster is at 90 so I'm pretty sure my sensor is accurate.
  20. In addition to the heat, CTP is mentioning a few days of heavy showers later in the week. Could be some real hydrology issues in areas that are already water-logged.
  21. Davis was having a great spring before the Covid shutdown. He was squaring up pitches he should have pulled and was taking everything on the outer half of the plate to left. It was really good to see. You almost knew that once things started back up, any momentum and confidence he had would disappear. Sadly, it did.
