  1. Nice day in these parts - partial sun and a nice breeze. Good day to be outside.
  2. The NAM also did well with a couple of the big storms during the 2009-10 winter, at least in the LSV. It was the first to insist on the north trend. The Euro came along thereafter and the GFS got on board about 6 hours into the storms.
  3. I know - which is why I made sure to specifically say "down this way" Hopefully there aren't those kind of cutoffs anytime soon.
  4. If it is, we're good as gold down this way. The year of the last minute north trend...
  5. My wag is that the southern tier sees .25-.50" Sunday. I think this isn't fully resolved yet.
  6. I feel bad for those that really need the rain. You and I have been more fortunate than a lot around these parts.
  7. We have friends from out west who vacation on the east coast every August. A few years ago they came east with no roof over their home and didn't seem concerned at all. Friend said he's been living out there for almost 40 years and it's rained twice during August over that period of time.
  8. This graph has been losing pretty colors with every update for the past few days. (2 days ago, it was showing > 3" for most of southern PA)
  9. I believe they lead the AL in hitting? Who saw that coming before the season... Edit: Yep, 1st in the AL, 2nd overall behind the Rockies.
  10. The Orioles...in the WIN column! How about those lovely totals...
  11. I'm just glad that Miller B came when I was 13 years old - I was more than happy with 16" of wind-driven snow. I wasn't old enough to be super pissed that parts of New England got like 4', LOL.
  12. The Orioles are 6-1 on the road and 3-6 at Camden Yards. I guess the Birds get excited playing in hostile environments this year.
  13. You look at this map and you might say "eh...what's so great about that?" (particularly for our area) 1. Our forecast was for 1-3". I had 16". That's a pretty colossal bust in a good way, which is rare. 2. Sustained winds even in our area were stronger than ANY storm that I've experienced, including the Superstorm. Like Nut said, we all have elements that are important to us. For some, it's all about the final total. I completely get that. For me, I like to see blinding snow being whipped sideways by 40+ mph winds. This storm had that. We had a drift in our driveway that exceeded 9' in depth.
  14. 1. 1993 2. 1996 3. 1983 4. 1978 5. 2016 The first 4 I listed all had other elements than snow, mainly strong winds and drifting. 2016 was a big dump of white gold but it was void of much wind. Honestly, I thought about putting '78 even higher. THAT was a beast!
  15. 11:00AM Dewpoint Roundup - Where is the front located? (This would also help explain why the Harrisburg area peeps aren't complaining about the humidity like us southern tier folks) Bradford: 54 University Park: 57 MDT: 65 Lancaster (MU): 73
  16. I remember several days in mid August when it was 65 and dreary. It absolutely can happen, but as Nutter said...it ain't likely given the setup this time around. It is oppressively oppressive out this morning.
  17. Southeastern York and southern Lancaster counties are getting rocked right now. Storms aren't moving much at all.
  18. So far today has been a Delaware Valley special. Lots of activity in Philly and south Jersey ongoing, let's see if things start to pop around here soon.
  19. That could only happen in this year. And you know what? Why Not?
  20. So how about that win by the O's last night? It was ugly as anything...but those game totals sure looked lovely as Joe Angel would have said. My preseason pick of 9-51 is in peril.
