  1. This morning was the first time the temp dipped into the 50s (56.6) here since early June. My wife had a sweatshirt on last evening!
  2. Keep it close and let Davis win it with one mighty swing in the 9th.
  3. Correct, I should have added that. My son is in southern CA this week in Riverside county - neat little tidy 108 yesterday where he was.
  4. It's been confirmed that Death Valley, CA reached 130F on Sunday. That goes down as the hottest temperature on earth since 1930!
  5. Yes. The next time it shows snow for us. It seems like it's NEVER wrong when we want it to be.
  6. I was thinking about this the other day - I'm not one to wish time away (especially at my age) but I wouldn't mind if we could hit the fast forward button to 2021 and see what we have to work with next year.
  7. 85/67 here. A wee bit more uncomfortable than what I was expecting. Way better than that July nonsense, however.
  8. I agree with you. I'd love to see some data for this, but I have to think that the vast majority of records set over recent history are on the hot side...it just does not get as consistently cold as it used to during the winter. Outside of one winter several years back, snowfall is almost impossible to keep on the ground for more than a few days. Where i really see the difference though is night time lows. Our lows temps year round seem way warmer than they were years ago.
  9. Loved the grit and the comeback against Mac today but they couldn't pull it off. Shame to play so well on the road and then come home and promptly drop a series. My takeaway? They're a fun team to watch and easy to root for.
  10. The skies have just opened up here. Nice shower in progress. Quick check of radar...I see nothing.
  11. I received so much rain last night that it evaporated in the gauge by morning. .07" was the tally.
  12. I agree with all of what you are saying. I truly do. What I was referring to, and what makes no sense to me, is posting a snow map that shows 9" over my house when a storm is tracking over Detroit and lacking CAD. It ain't happening.
  13. It would be nice to get this one tonight and sit at 12-8 a third of the way into the season.
  14. I have EZ Pass and still can't keep up with the tolls. Sad thing is I really like driving the pike, it just is so darn expensive.
  15. This is true...though I think a lot in our thread recognize the woes of the GFS. I know @pasnownut will often caveat that when he shows what it's saying. The NAM gets more hate than it should, though sometimes when it's wrong it can be ridiculously so.
  16. I can't believe how low the ceiling has been here for the past 3 hours without so much of a drop falling. I've been waiting and waiting for the rain to start...it just won't.
  17. I would amend that to say that you could have outperformed the models and those who went solely by them, yes. I believe that I remember MAG saying over and over again that the snow maps depicted were way overdone (especially in the LSV) - the meteorology didn't support the maps.
  18. A lot of the models snowfall depictions this past winter did not make meteorological sense. Far too often models depicted low track consistently running west of PA and still showed significant snows here despite little to no CAD and screaming SE winds. That is why I in particular was critical of the snow maps because there was little sound reasoning to believe that they would be correct. And they weren't.
