Even to our west it doesn't look overly impressive. There are a few cells that look decent but so far, overall it looks kind of meh.
There is a 2nd area forming further east behind the first "line" that might target our area later on.
I never realized how dramatic some of the nuances are of LES - back several years ago when Buffalo got like 7' of snow in a few days, I believe that until the fluff settled and compacted they had just over half that amount still on the ground. Impressive depth, yes. But when you see the ridiculous totals coming in from up there during LE events it's good to remember that what is reported isn't what is always on the ground.
Just hit 90 for the 39th time here.
I just read in the mid atlantic obs disco that this hasn't been a hot summer - I thought we just came out of the hottest July in recorded history?
Radar looks like a winter time squally kind of day - lots of activity as you said to our N&W and moving east. I'm going to pretend it's January 24 2021 and wait for an incoming quick inch of snow in 15 minutes.
@canderson thinking of you as well - know you have family down in Texas and obviously concerned with some of the projections for Laura. Hope everyone does well down there.
@Voyager my best wishes for a speedy recovery!
Agree about Laura - hopefully her rains are beneficial and stop at that for those in PA who need the rains most desperately.
Nice couple of wins by the Birds. Both were games they clearly would have lost the last couple of seasons.
2 games to the halfway point. Win them and we have a 2nd half pennant race.
I'm lousy at reading things like that - must be because it's so bad like Canderson said. Isn't that map depicting that your area is above normal precipitation?
