  1. Absolutely perfect day here on Hatteras. Water remains everywhere after 9.11" at the station closest to me. Nearly 6" fell yesterday. Today is sunny, breezy and gorgeous.
  2. Pretty cool satellite image of the cloud bank right at the M/D line. With all of the rain we've had down here we're just now getting our first Thunderstorm of the event. So far we've had about 4" of rain but 4-6" is predicted over the next 24 hours.
  3. The GFS is a southern-based model. Didn't you realize that? It was consistently showing a few inches of rain last week for down here and we're going to at least double that.
  4. Having a great time despite the weather. This place is special in a lot of ways and to be here during nasty weather is honestly very cool. The rain certainly overperformed yesterday but hasn't been too bad today. As for the beer - my wife is winning that competition with ease. Have a great week everyone. For those worrying about dry conditions up home...I'll do my best to send a little wetness your way. There's more than enough to go around...
  5. Good morning from Hatteras Island. Since arriving Saturday midday it looks like we've had about 3" of rain. Currently it's raining and 73/71. Point and click is 1-2" of rain today, 1-2" tonight, 2-4" tomorrow, 1-2" tomorrow night and then 1-2" on Wednesday. We are staying oceanfront and it's an understatement to say it's angry...
  6. Pouring rain and 72 here. Local NWS office is expecting 6-10" of additional rain through Thursday evening. We did have a beautiful sunset last night.
  7. It won't. I can't speak for my family but I will make the best of it. Hatteras Island is a fragile piece of land...it will be interesting to see what 5-8" of rain does.
  8. I'm expecting at least 5-6" of rain in North Carolina....and put an emphasis on the "at least" part.
  9. Yep, and the latest Euro trains Itstrainingtime for days on end. Going to be interesting...
  10. Nary a drop of rain here today. Waiting to see what happens overnight.
  11. Eastern NC has been the focus for an insane amount of rain on the ECMWF for several runs in a row. The bullseye is moving around a bit but has been consistently >8". Guess where I'm heading early Saturday?
  12. Temp forecast for today ended up being pretty much spot on...I was expecting around 78 or so, it's currently 78.2 right now. I never bought for a minute we'd end up in the 40s tonight, but we'll see.
  13. I smell yet another overachiever today with regard to high temperatures...already up to 74.2 here now. I think we're going to reach the low 80s...
  14. 2nd day this week I topped out at 88.8...still haven't hit 90 on the thermometer. Now 86.6/59. Inside it's a pleasant 66.
  15. She's backing down now. In the past hour my dew dropped from 67 to 61.
  16. Well not this part of Lancaster. I finished with .12" for the day.
  17. And it isn't training over me. (though I've been hearing off and on thunder as the cells slide to my south)
  18. Sure is...welcome back by the way. Thought of you the other day when Rouzerville was getting 'rouzzed on pretty good. Edit: The cell that just crossed I-83 in York is intensifying and heading my way...
  19. We have had take out meals from local restaurants in Mount Joy/Marietta/Bainbridge every single Friday since the 2nd week of March. We'll continue that tonight and next week before leaving on vacation. Once we get home I'll reassess and see where things stand. I've been spending a lot more money on food than what I budgeted for but hey...a lot of people are a whole lot worse off than me right now and I want to do what I can to support their business.
  20. At least right now this looks correct. Almost all of the action is firing south of Rt. 30 and slowly drifting east/northeast.
  21. Sprinkles here now, quite a few light showers scattered around the LSV...I wonder if this will suppress heavier stuff later?
  22. It played for me. That was fascinating to see, thanks for sharing!
  23. Yes sir, and my rain gauge is getting a workout tonight. I'll easily be over 2" combined with yesterday's rain and likely higher than that.
