It's summer with summertime weather. As much as I dislike the heat, I don't expect anything different.
Just please give me some cold (not 30s and 40s, that is NOT cold) weather this winter. Please.
Well...I'm well past pulling off that vibe. Once I get home from this trip I'm promptly ratcheting my AC to about 62. I made sure my system was fully charged to start the season.
Horst has a video on Twitter that he took Tuesday in the Big Horn mountains - it was 34 degrees and snowing...(on June 30th)
I need to switch vacation destinations next year.
Given what our posters have reported in this thread, that map looks spot on to me. Nice little area of AN rainfall showing up in parts of York and extreme western Lanco, other than that, lots of oranges and reds to confirm other area's dryness.
We talk about this issue a good bit in this thread - I'm a proponent that temps usually bust higher than advertised, and if it's been dry than even more so. I haven't looked at what models are saying mostly because I don't really want the bad news so I'm not sure what is being spit out right now. All I know is that it sounds like we won't get cheated on the heat next week.
In other words...you're going to be extremely lucky to see rain on either day. Showers are popping now over eastern PA, and unless something changes rather significantly, they're not getting anywhere close to either of you. (or me)
Seems like a frontal passage followed by a brief reprieve of lower temp and dews before the real heat kicks in. Not sure the entire 4th will be a wash but it could be active for a time.
It's also 5 days out - things could speed up or slow down. Or...it might not produce anything.
Probably right. June has been very interesting...I would characterize the month as having a lot of sunny days yet we've had measurable rainfall on more than half the days that I've been home. I know it was dry here while I was in NC but it's rained 5 days this past week.
What really surprises me is that both of you (especially Cashtown) live in a more favored area for storms than what I do. I've been extremely lucky and you've been extremely unlucky I guess...
Well I'm an idiot as usual - instead of letting things play out I called fail too quickly. Ended up getting a really nice shower here with nearly .25" in the bucket. 5 of the last 7 days has produced measurable rainfall.
'tis the season for hit and miss storms unless we get can some tropical action. My grass is still green and growing just as fast as the weeds. Hopefully areas that are drier than me can get some rain today before we dry out completely.
