  1. Well... I was just coming here to post that I just enjoyed my first 30 seconds of wintry precipitation for the season! I was outside gathering the trash and recycle cans and experienced a graupel shower! Lasted a good half minute. I'm on the board for the winter.
  2. Geez, a lot of medium to long term guidance suggests that the pattern is ripe going forward... ...for it to stay pretty quiet in here.
  3. I think you're right! I don't remember which game but it was a few/several years ago. I was at the Dolphins game in 2013 when it snowed during pregame and the 1st quarter - the Eagles were hosting the Lions that day in Philly and received over 6" of snow...we only had about and inch or two in Pittsburgh, but that was my top Steelers "weather game." We were at the Washington Football Team game in 2012 on the day before Sandy hit which was memorable as well. I can honestly say that last night was the weather event of the year at my home. .80" of rain in about 20 minutes combined with 50+ mph winds. It was crazy for about 10-15 minutes.
  4. Steelers with a statement win tonight. My son and I have made a weekend trip every season since 2010. This was our weekend...until Covid. Would have been a great combo of the game and the weather!
  5. Tapering off now, .80" in less than 15 minutes. I'm glad I followed this since yesterday. Nice to get a big reward for the time invested. Edit: 2 big flashes of lightning as well!
  6. Tremendous overperformer here. Rain gauge is at .66" in 8 minutes. Peak gust is 54 so far...
  7. Watching this thing move east right along with you. Any chance of lightning with the squall line?
  8. I'm sorry to hear that. At least last year Pitt kept it close.
  9. The fall of Penn State football this year is numbing...4 weeks ago at this time the experts projected the Lions as a potential playoff team. Weather observation- it is a spectacular fall Saturday!
  10. Well at least it feels closer to November weather today than the September weather we've been experiencing. As Nut says "let's step it down..."
  11. Looking more and more likely that those of us who have yet to have our first freeze will get on the board next week. Euro showing highs in the upper 30s with lows in the mid 20s midweek.
  12. I was thinking about this the other day when it was 77 degrees...as nice as it was, there was nothing to suggest that wintry weather was remotely close. If we can get temps knocked back down at least close to normal, we can start having realistic conversations about what we really want to talk about. And in mid-November that's where we want to be.
  13. To anyone in this thread who has served or are currently serving our country - my heartfelt thanks and appreciation go out to you. I'm also thankful for this rain, it's been dry for some time now.
  14. Might be the last day of the year as nice as this - and holy cow are there ever a ton of people out on the local trails enjoying the weather today!
  15. Yes sir - spent a lot of time out and enjoying a perfect weather weekend.
  16. Fine with me. Unless the air mass is extremely anomalous, we're (south and east of the mountains) getting rain even if it's cold the next couple of weeks. I'd rather see a pattern flip once it we have a better chance at wintry precip.
  17. Stunning weather - going to take full advantage of this and enjoy many walks along the river over the upcoming week or so.
  18. 2020 - the year of hurricanes undergoing RI. Eta went nuts today...
  19. @canderson I have to say, the winds have only gotten stronger as the day progresses down this way. It's fair and accurate to say that the house has been shakin' a bit over the past hour or so. It's an impressive wind for sure.
  20. You and me both. And that sounds like a great place to be these days.
  21. At the very least, there's very little chance of any precip through the remainder of this week.
  22. Windy here but I don't think it's as windy as it is in the 'Burg...
  23. Excited to see snow pictures even more this season than most - seems to do the soul some good after all we've been and are going through. Also, several of the local (Lancaster, York, Harrisburg) radio stations have switched to holiday music already...
