  1. Heavy moved forecast offices, he's down in Sterling now, or at least was. He has posted sporadically in the Mid Atlantic threads. I miss the days when everyone would follow Tombo's legendary panel by panel Euro descriptions from years ago...
  2. It's hard to not be interested given the setup - going to be some fun days of tracking ahead. Far better than this time last year. Nice to see the Atlantic playing nice with us.
  3. Sounds like DT is all in on a Miller B for the midweek event. He's "growling" for areas N&E of the PA Turnpike...not quite "woofing" yet.
  4. I'll settle for a modified Miller B ala 1996 and call it a season.
  5. Very true! I took a quick glance at that snow map and the razor sharp edge in Jersey jumped out at me - didn't even see the gradient across Lanco. I only trust a Miller B when the snow is falling and piling up. I refuse to buy into anything before that point.
  6. I didn't have a chance to see the Euro's progression with the storm Blizz is talking about, but that snow map has Miller B written all over it... Also, good luck making a forecast if you're in central New Jersey. As depicted, that's going from essentially nothing to a 1' plus in about 25 miles.
  7. Just took a quick look at the national radar - I'd say 99% of the country is dry. Pretty remarkable.
  8. Yep, right with you. Hey, you have to play to win. Last year we didn't have enough players to even form a team. This year, it's whether or not we can get our guys to come together and get us a couple of wins. Maybe we're the WFT going up against Pittsburgh...
  9. It's mostly gone now, but watching the radar loop I was under some of the heavier returns. My daughter works just outside of Lancaster and from the pictures she sent me, they might have had a little more than what I had.
  10. Talk about a positive mood change - ground and roads are covered here. It's not much, but in these days...man does it look and feel good outside right now. Got several tenths of an inch with -SN still flying.
  11. Got a solid coating here within minutes. Really, it's very much a squall. Went from virga to wind-blown snow in a minute and was heavy for about 5 minutes. Still snowing lightly here near Rt. 30, I'd estimate a few/several tenths of an inch so far.
  12. Snowing VERY nicely right down the road from you. We whiten! It's brightening out now and the snow is diminishing - that was a nice squall! Solid coating here.
  13. Just started here! Went from virga to legit -SN in about a minute.
  14. Poster in our thread (Central PA) is reporting -SN in midtown Harrisburg now. I'm about 20 miles SE of Harrisburg, nothing here yet, though the ceiling has noticeably lowered over the past 20 minutes. A few flakes here now. I'm about 5 miles north of Rt. 30 right on the Susquehanna on the Lancaster county side.
  15. As someone on here said yesterday, the Steelers were the worst 11-0 team ever. I follow them VERY closely, and while their defense might be very good, this is in no way a dominant team. I think @CAPE is correct here - a good team for sure, but I'm not convinced they do much of anything come postseason. They don't run exceptionally well, their receivers drop a ton of passes, they're still susceptible to dumb penalties, and they have a QB situation where if Ben gets hurt, they're done. And he's not the most durable guy behind center anymore. Much credit to Washington - it was fun watching their D fly around yesterday. If I was a Washington fan I'd have more hope than I've had for many years.
  16. A lot of the fun can be the chase itself, especially with the right attitude and understanding going in. Patience, and chances... Man, I lit up when I saw that you posted. Welcome back my friend! I like your thought and call.
  17. We've (LSV specific) have been spoiled rotten since 2003 with big daddy snowstorms. After suffering from the '83 blizzard pretty much up until the '93 winter, the past year or two while frustrating, does not compare to that stretch. Patience...
  18. Yes. In March, the last thing I want is a coating - that is big game season for me. Right now, on December 8th, I'd love to see snow. Any amount is fine and gladly appreciated!
  19. I thought you said Leesburg, which is in northern Virginia. When I read that post my first thought was that you were spot on. I think a comparison to that general area is good...notsomuch southern VA.
  20. .64" in the bucket thus far - should end up fairly close to 1" for the event.
  21. Ji is off-putting to a LOT of people on here, and I totally respect those that feel that way. Personally, I think he's the funniest negative person on the board. His act does grow a bit weary to me only in that he actually knows a lot - I listen to what he says because honestly...he's often right.
  22. A light wintry mix of rain and sleet continues here. 42 degrees.
