  1. Low here in the historic district was 7, but it was 15 at sunrise. Temp bottomed out at 3:50am. Like @CarlislePaWx this was my coldest reading since 2018-19.
  2. Skies cleared here and temp has responded. On my drive home from Elizabethtown temp ranged from 11 up to 22. 17.4 here at home.
  3. The thing I hated to see today on some models for next week was temps in the 50s to near 60 with high dews and QPF. That trifecta obliterates snowpack, I don't care how much ice is in it. I watched a 30" snowpack get reduced to scattered piles in 10 hours back in January 96. Other than that, there seems to be a lot to be excited about going forward. Hate to lose a white Christmas the day before, but if we can score multiple times thereafter, that's a nice payback.
  4. I agree! If the front is indeed as stout as depicted, anything that hangs back will result in congratulations Carolinas.
  5. @showmethesnow Thank you for taking the time for preparing and sharing your thoughts. I LOVE to read your posts. Guys, yesterday I shoveled a total of 6 times. It took me 3 hours to get the job done, I thought it was best decision given my age and the weight of that stuff to shovel in 30 minute "shifts." I feel remarkably good this morning. I'm glad I had the time available to do it like that.
  6. My seasonal total through 3 events is 11.8" (.3", .7", and 10.8")
  7. At least they won't have 107,000 people coming to town on Saturday for the PSU/Illinois game.
  8. I think it was in the Buffalo "South Towns" several years back they got 7' from a single lake event. They were dumping snow in the lake...
  9. Problem was, it wasn't a pure snowstorm. I thought shoveling 30" back in 2016 was relatively easy. This is a different animal with the high water content deeper in the pack. It's not the snow you mind clearing, it's what came with it.
  10. Eh, maybe not...though mine did kick on Tuesday evening for a while.
  11. Just saw a report that Marietta finished with 11.5", which is 1.5 miles from me. That was the highest that I've seen in our area.
  12. I think that's why I relate well to you. I work in a company of 900 people, and at a banquet last year, received an award for being the most organized person at work.
  13. Great information Stephen, thank you for sharing the QPF amount in particular. Had the 2" of QPF that was being advertised a few days ago come to fruition, snow and ice amounts would have been close to what was expected.
  14. We talk about that in here a good bit. Things got way out of whack in respect to historical climatology along the I-95 corridor over the past 10-15 years, and it really spoiled a lot of people, especially younger ones who I believed that they assumed what was happening was "normal". Entitlement. Sort of understandable, but they really needed a bit of a reality check. On the flip side, they had a dreadful year last year, so add that in and they're starving. Even here in Lancaster, our climate history suggests double digit snows come about once or twice a decade. I've had double digit snows 8 times in the past 11 years. I appreciated this storm because I know that it's not normal nor should it be expected.
  15. Thanks! I was chatting back and forth with you a couple of years ago. My wife was in Boone during the big December storm you good folks had, and you and a few others were extremely helpful providing tips on timing, routes, etc. If I remember correctly, you ended up somewhere around 18-19" from that storm, correct? I think that was 2018. (2017?)
  16. Agree. I'm shocked that I ended up with more than you. It simply came down to banding.
  17. Officially the 3rd largest storm on record in Lancaster at 10".
  18. Final total was 10.8". 9.7" of that was snow. Congrats to all of us! Great storm...
  19. Back to snow here with just a few pingers. Snow/sleet total is 7.4"...hoping to end up in the 10-12" range.
