  1. @dcfox1 what's going on up on Chickies neighbor? I'm closing in quickly on 8" here.
  2. Some areas as far north as the LV are actually mixed with or changed over to sleet based on obs in the Philly thread.
  3. I had that for the first 15 minutes and then the flake size started decreasing...not the intensity, just the size. Really nice moderate snow here. Not sure my vis is < 1/4 mile yet.
  4. Surprised how long it's taking to mix out the sleet in Lanco. I assumed I was one of the last to flip, but I've been snow for quite some time. Already 1" new, 6.7" storm total.
  5. So wish that "L" was positioned 50 freaking miles south of there.
  6. Hmm...I was living in Centerville for that storm and I had wall to wall snow. One of the few big ones that I didn't mix.
  7. Changeover process has commenced here. Wind continues to increase. If we can get into some heavy snow, it's going to be an awesome scene out there.
  8. Wind-driven sleet. Haven't seen a snowflake since last evening. It's closing in around me...
  9. Well, Horst is getting excited about the remainder of the day. Says that conditions will rapidly deteriorate this afternoon and told people to think about heading home from work now.
  10. Yes, the GFS is showing that my house will get as much precip from here on out as NYC. Not sure that is accurate.
  11. Jesus, the firehose coming off the Atlantic into NYC is insane. Radar is jaw-dropping, the heaviest is just offshore and their are reports of visibilities already down to less than a 1/8 mile. Islip will verify Blizzard criteria on their next hourly ob.
  12. I've got nothing here, sky is "broken" - no longer a dense overcast. Just waiting to see what will happen...
  13. Once again, for the umpteenth time...nothing definitive can be said. The ups and downs are dizzying. - We never had any sort of model consensus (including the Euro) - We knew (or should have by now) that both a dry slot AND mixed precipitation was going to occur in the LSV) - We know the history of how delicate a Miller B set up is - implications with the transfer, the location, strength, direction, etc. This is a storm that was and still is virtually impossible to predict. And that is why I defended Tom Russell 48 hours ago. His guess (which is what it was, a guess) was just as good as any out there. And he might end up nailing it for the LSV. He also might end up way off. We don't know. Let's wait, watch, and see.
  14. Awesome! I'm actually in a lull with nothing falling right now.
  15. What a wild day! HRRR gives me 3", NAM and GFS 4-5 times that. Disappointing that we lost the Euro this morning.
  16. 9:00AM OBS PL 28.2 degrees Total snowfall (includes sleet) 5.2"
  17. Yes. If the HRRR is correct, no one west of the river in the LSV gets more than a couple of inches.
  18. I know it's the HRRR, but latest run depicts 14" in @Mshaffer526 land in Gap, but only 3" in my hood. Brutal cutoff east to west across Lanco.
