  1. My wife actually drinks more than I do - thing is, we LOVE this house. It's only 4 years old, gorgeous pool, hot tub, and right off the ocean. Tons of space inside. With my high powered fan blowing I can make 74 tolerable for a week given everything else that we love.
  2. THAT is really cool. Father and daughter going to a game together, and initiated by your daughter. That is awesome stuff right there, and I hope you have an amazing day together.
  3. Generally expecting highs in the mid 80s on the coastline next week. It will be humid as crap though. You know, I am a rule follower through and through but I'm always challenged to follow my morals on vacation. There's a notice in our house stating not to set the AC below 74 degrees...are you kidding me?
  4. Isn't it amazing how often that happens? And it doesn't matter who the team is either.
  5. I'm liking how there is a precip max of nearly 5" in eastern NC and another just offshore with the Outer Banks itself receiving significantly less. Interesting...
  6. Yes! The pressure is off, I fully expect a 14 game winning streak to follow.
  7. WPC says south central PA might not see much liquid after all:
  8. This is wrong on so many levels I can't begin to go into detail, but anyone waiting until June to turn on the AC will be judged by me. A lot. I made one small edit.
  9. Gregg Jefferies. I had half of an album of Gregg Jefferies rookie cards. The biggest can't miss player of my lifetime up until that point. (mid 1980s) Had a solid career with a couple of all star game appearances but he never lived up to the hype. (which wasn't possible given the amount of hype)
  10. I was an Orioles season ticket holder during that era...I'd race home after every game to see how far Sammie or Mac hit one that night. At the very least, baseball was relevant and had captured people's attention. (albeit for the wrong reasons)
  11. How often do they have to close that pool from someone who had the sh*t scared out of them?
  12. Curt's head wasn't screwed on straight, Freddie was at the end of his career, and Brady hadn't discovered performance enhancing drugs yet.
  13. I don't like rain delayed, bring it early. Same applies in the winter. Delayed way too often = denied.
  14. We're 2/3rds of the way to matching our infamous 1988 streak. Of course, that one started the season and many wondered if the O's would ever win.
  15. @mahantango#1 that's a great picture, thank you for posting!
  16. I'm sort of surprised by how brown my yard still is. Definitely better than a week ago but still dry.
  17. Spectacular Memorial Day! Sunny skies, low dews, and 73 degrees. #perfection
  18. Thursday night and Friday are looking wetter than what we just went through.
  19. Enjoy your day - I love Caledonia, to me it's a hidden gem. We often go to Pinchot because it's closer but I love the vibe in the Michaux state forest. Also, thanks for your well wishes for our trip. It's out of my control, we'll make the best of what comes our way. Interestingly, as epically wet as it was last year, we've been doing the beach gig all my life and over the years we've been blessed with phenomenal weather. Many years featured no rain, or perhaps a day where it stormed. Last year was the only true clunker that I remember, so there's that perspective, too. Sure, I want it sunny and 85 every day but that isn't likely going to happen and we'll enjoy that beautiful, fragile piece of land no matter what the weather.
  20. I'm at .04" for the day, 1.35" for the event. Temp is up to 55 here.
  21. Looks like dews rise to the upper 60s/around 70 range by next Sunday or Monday. I'll be enjoying another deluge on OBX for the 2nd year in a row: (rain is not finished after this)
  22. Just picked up my first hundredth of an inch since 6pm yesterday. Rain has now stopped.
