  1. Me too! My point was, those aren't the types of days that typically generate a passion for weather...it's typically a large snowstorm or some other significant weather event. Other than my week on Hatteras Island I could care less if we ever saw 70 degrees all year. :)
  2. Probably none of us are on here stemming from a fascination of the day when we were younger and it was sunny and 67.
  3. Thank you for sharing that. One reason why I hate severe weather is admittedly, I never wish to see/experience a tornado first hand. To go through 4...well, I can't imagine. I'm sorry that I've given you a hard time over wind. I certainly won't do that again. Hopefully this is something that you can deal with appropriately moving forward.
  4. Yep, I'm watching live coverage on the local ABC station down there.
  5. I'm assuming it was on one of her many trips to southern VA. Short Pump has taken on a whole new level of notoriety this winter. Meanwhile - already multiple confirmed Tornadoes on the ground in AL and MS.
  6. I shared this with my wife. She looked at me and said she's familiar with Short Pump...I'm not sure what she was saying...
  7. Short Pump under a MDT risk of severe tomorrow with snow on Friday...
  8. I was looking at a webcam from Starkville MS and it's almost completely clear. Not good.
  9. Correct - 2' totals happened west of the I-81 corridor in Central PA. Even in Harrisburg the total was 18". Here in Lancaster, I had about 6 hours of pure wind-driven sleet during the height of the storm. Still finished with about 18" of snow/sleet combined.
  10. My wife spent a week in Tuscaloosa days after 4/27/11 helping clean up efforts. The pictures and video she sent to me were...I don't know. Street after street of nothing but concrete pads. There were areas where there was literally nothing left.
  11. Yes - hoping for the same result today. I realize that this is part of the drill down there, and I'm not a severe guy by any means, but the dialogue from SPC seems very concerning to me.
  12. That's an ugly map - hate seeing such a large area under a MDT or HIGH today. I'm afraid there's going to be some devastation over the next 24 hours.
  13. Assistant weather weenie (wife) verified a period of snow flurries at home this morning followed by a period of sleet this afternoon. That goes down as a T.
  14. I was just going to post that! I'll give you a ton of credit, for the grief you get, you keep rolling with it. (I had to laugh yet again this morning when you were reminded that spring discussion goes in the Long Range Discussion even though there's a dedicated thread for Spring talk.) Not to mention...I went back through your threads from 2020 - there was no Long Range Thread in April, May, June, July, August, September...clearly, the Long Range Thread has always been specific to wintry weather threats looming. Rules changed again I guess...
  15. I had a "brief" (5 minute) period of light rain and sleet here at work - not sure if there were any flakes flying up in the Historic District. Nut saw some in Etown which is 5 miles up the road from me.
  16. Looks like maybe @Bubbler86 @Cashtown_Coop might have seen a little somethin' early this morning.
  17. Trixie just asked in the Monday Snow thread that Ji created when watches are going up - I think you should quote her post and put in Sterling's WWA for portions of that thread.
  18. Sixers playing very well these days. What I like most about this team right now is that they're playing unselfishly and staying focused by putting teams away. I'm actually more enthused about this team than any over the last 20 years.
  19. According to Pennlive, the fire is under control now. They also reported that there were no evacuations. It is a chilly morning!
  20. It literally feels about 50 degrees different in the sun sheltered from the wind compared to shady areas in the wind.
  21. Was sort of shocked yesterday afternoon on our walk...it was almost dead calm. It's anything but calm out today. Holy cow it's windy.
  22. Wyoming certainly looks like it will end up as ground zero. Some places already at 20" with a good 12-18 hours to go
  23. @Blizzard of 93 - my 6,000th post HAS to be about snow. Bring this one home next Friday! :)
