  1. As @Mount Joy Snowman said earlier this morning, convection makes for big winners and big losers. You'd like to think that over time that things even out...but really that doesn't always happen. As you said, we need a more typical cooler season type LP to bring an area-wide soaking. Everyone joins in on the fun, and everyone gets the type of rain that is really needed.
  2. I see that CTP has me at 40% for today, 60% for tomorrow. We'll see. Really hope that your area gets hit today. Cannot imagine how frustrating it is to be this dry 2 summers in a row. At least you did well with the white stuff last winter.
  3. And just to add, go about 6-8 miles NW of my location and they're around 8" since last Thursday.
  4. Lightning and thunder woke me up. Constant flashes and several REALLY close strikes. Not sure I bullseyed as I was too tired to get out of bed. I got .85" overnight. Total since yesterday morning was 1.12". Total since last Thursday stands at 5.61".
  5. I was wondering. We drove through Mt. Joy earlier and there was water running everywhere, and brown, muddy water in the fields. That was not the scene around our place. No idea what they got but it was certainly more than a quarter inch.
  6. Just back from dinner out with my wife. .15" fell while we were out, sitting at .27" for the day. Areas just to my east and northeast got far, far more...
  7. You and I just got warned. Rain has started...let's see what happens...
  8. I'm at .11" for the afternoon - what rain I've received has fallen under sunny skies. Gorgeous rainbow to my south. August 2018 - that was before I had my station and I was estimating off local reports. I know from my garden gauge that the day that Mount Joy proper had over 10", I had just a smidge over 6" at my place. Very quietly, some areas of southern Lanco are approaching 4" of rain since 2:30pm today.
  9. Absolutely! Storm hitting now certainly might not be the last...
  10. CTP finally pulled the trigger on a FFW for Solanco.
  11. I don't know about MDT, but I had over 11" a few years ago and none of it was tropical. There was a day in August when Maytown - Mount Joy - Manheim all picked up between 6-11" of rain in about 2-3 hours.
  12. I was jackpotted last Thursday - 2.45" when most had far less. It's raining here again.
  13. You might get another couple of inches out of that. My goodness...
  14. I got exactly a quarter inch yesterday morning and another quarter inch last night. 15 miles from me received almost 5X what I got. As soon as the heavens opened, it shut off. .07" from that 2 minute shower.
  15. Holy crap, the skies are pouring forth the liquid gold once again.
  16. Big raindrops have just started falling here. Sky is partly cloudy, the only dark cloud I can see is directly overhead.
  17. This is honestly why I do not care what happens at MDT. What happens or doesn't happen at MDT has zero bearing on my sensible weather and my weather statistics. I don't understand why some get hung up on what MDT records...none of us live on the tarmac.
  18. Per the map you posted earlier regarding 3 day rain totals, the area getting hit hard right now has been dryer than what I've been, which is good. I'm at 3.74" since Thursday.
  19. And the one county that is getting trained by storms is the one county not under a Flood Watch:
  20. Picked up exactly .25" tonight. Daily total is .50".
  21. Still to my west. Last radar image shows some weakening. I'll find out shortly...
