  1. I don't pay much attention to LNS either, but it's nice to know that we had the same readings. Sometimes I question my station when I see that almost everyone else on here is several degrees cooler at night. I'm not really in an urban area that I'd expect to run warmer. I know that @Mount Joy Snowman should be a little cooler at night, he's in a more conducive area to radiate out well.
  2. Interesting...that's a pretty big discrepancy for sure. I guess there's more to it than I thought. I just don't pay attention much to MDT.
  3. Enjoy! I admittedly haven't watched a single minute, and as you know, I'm a fairly big hoops fan. I just can't get into it. I've got other things to keep me busy, like watching the Orioles lose some more games. Another nice day today before we start feeling the warmth for sure tomorrow.
  4. Maybe...sure wouldn't surprise me. Best chance is if we can get dews up in the mid 70s for that to happen. With increasing amounts of darkness now, we'd need high dews I believe so that we don't radiate that well at night. That's the thing about mid to late August heat...even on hot days, it's often more pleasant in the evening with the sun setting earlier. Speaking of radiating, I got down to 56 last night. That's actually the coolest for the summer here.
  5. Beautiful satellite image this morning - such a well-defined cutoff from clear to cloudy skies...
  6. I hope that beautiful dog didn't get sick from eating pine tar...
  7. Absolutely. And like I said over the weekend...let it get hot. It is August, and it is the dog days. Hot weather in August is more tolerable to me because; well, it's August...and the end is in sight.
  8. Just walked around campus over lunch - very nice SE breeze blowing. Cloudy with sun peeking through. Home weather station is reading 76.6 right now.
  9. Those waves to the south...holy cow. Forecast for Rodanthe, NC on the Outer Banks (where I was in early June) is for rain today through Thursday accumulating 7-11". That amount of rain will cause a tremendous amount of flooding - feel for those on vacation this week.
  10. LOL, I've never been in a fight in my life. It is quite cloudy over this way as well.
  11. Honestly...I'm quite often very close to their temp readings. The only times I can recall being more than a degree or 2 off is on a clear, calm night with fresh snow cover. Those nights I'll be a good 5-10 degrees lower. I'm always perplexed by the comments in here about their readings because I'm usually really close to what they report.
  12. Sure do. It was the offseason that followed that fans were talking dynasty with 2 great QBs...
  13. Must have been influenced by the cool Susky waters...I got up to 83 here.
  14. By the way, after the line of showers/storms went through early last evening, it rained again later at night. I picked up .01" additional after midnight.
  15. That was sort of a joke... Up to 81 here now as well.
  16. Just reached 80 here. Correct about 2 QBs. Though, Jacksonville might have Lawrence and Tebow.
  17. I say let it get hot - let's use up some AN temps now so that we can swing things to BN when it counts.
  18. Will it stay in the 70s today? 79.2 here now... Also - hey Eagles fans, remember not that long ago when you were all excited over having 2 starting QBs? (Wentz & Foles)
  19. Correct. It's going to have to get a LOT colder before I start thinking about long pants or sweatshirts.
  20. 58 here - thought it might get a little lower. I went to bed early last night and it was 63 at 9pm.
  21. I honestly haven't seen a sky like that in a LONG time. We ended up with a 10-15 minute period of heavy rain followed by another 15 minutes of moderate rain.
  22. Three solid rain showers today. What a great day for my lawn and garden: 11:30am: .25" 3:30pm: .12" 7:50pm: .45" Total rainfall today: .82"
