  1. It really blew up approaching the river. Another decent but much weaker cell moving in now. I really hope I get missed tomorrow so others can benefit. The cats were terrified. They flew under beds once the lightning ramped up.
  2. I don't deserve this after yesterday - up to .62" for the day, 1.37" since yesterday. Still raining.
  3. MU Weather Center @MUweather Storms are now really starting to intensify east of the Susquehanna River as they encounter a hotter and more unstable environment. Localized flash flooding of low-lying, poor-drainage, and urban areas may occur, as well as isolated wind gusts of 50-60 mph. For those that get missed today, you'll have an excellent chance of "cashing in" on showers and storms tomorrow. Another vigorous disturbance will traverse the mid-Atlantic States from west-to-east, and the environment will be equally as moist and unstable as today..
  4. The lightning is even worse at home today then it was yesterday at the office. Cloud to ground strikes happening very close to the house. Pouring rain. Dead calm.
  5. Cell just blew up JUST to my WNW - watching to see if it expands further over me. Additional cells starting to pop in York and Adams.
  6. Not sure that they did - Lanco and east is running well above everyone else due to more sunshine. I'm sitting at 92 at home right now. Some mid 90s showing up already to my east.
  7. Yeah...it doesn't look good for a while for people south of Rt. 30.
  8. Mu does not agree with the meso's: MU Weather Center @MUweather Heavy showers and embedded T-storms associated with a mesoscale convective system (MCS) will continue to move eastward across the Lower Susquehanna Valley through 1-2 PM. Additional development is likely this afternoon, but this may stabilize the atmosphere and prevent #severewx.
  9. Not sure if this was mentioned and if it was, I apologize. Just looking at MDT'S climate page shows that June/July combined were the warmest on record and 2024 so far is the warmest year on record.
  10. Total rainfall today was .75". I'm sorry for all who were missed.
  11. You're still 1.5" ahead of me YTD. Rain has just arrived at home so we'll see what happens.
  12. Temp dropped here from 94 down to 78 while it was raining. It's already back up to 86. 93 sounds really high during rainfall.
  13. Well, that was "fun" - rain is about out of here and the lights are back on. Water is running in places I haven't seen it running for quite a long time.
  14. This is easily the worst storm I've been in for at least 4-5 years. (not saying much concerning how quiet it's been lately) I can only see about 100'. No hail at the office but the lightning and thunder is incredible.
  15. And now we're in darkness. Power is out. Wow, that bolt was close.
