  1. Radar looks loaded to me - CTP issuing Flood Advisories like firemen throw candy in a parade. Going to be a lot of busy rain gauges over the next several hours.
  2. Itstrainingtime is ongoing about 5 miles to my NW. Constant thunder here but no rain for the past few hours.
  3. Well said! I am a baseball fanatic first who happens to be a fan of the Orioles for the past 47 years. Thank you. The commitment comes easy because we love to do it...no matter what the weather.
  4. Crazy? Um...yes. Walking every day is important to us...we should have gone earlier, but a lot of people are out on Saturday mornings and I was looking for less crowds and more solitude. Normally, we'll walk around 6-7pm this time of year but I was figuring that would be go time for storms. That's my rationale. LOL
  5. I cannot believe how humid it is outside. We were walking on the river trail when the storm formed. We left the lot under mostly sunny skies with a few puffy cumulus clouds. We were 17 minutes into the walk when the first rain drops started falling. Things are developing that quickly. And in this atmosphere, once the match is lit, they're exploding quickly.
  6. Storm formed essentially over my area and blossomed east of me. I had 10 minutes of rain with lightning and nothing else.
  7. Deluge in Maytown...this popped right over me. Got .25" in 10 minutes so far.
  8. I do not mean this to be offensive, and this is a VERY GENERAL type of comment. I find Red Sox fans more annoying than Yankees fans. Yankee fans, by and large, are passionate baseball fans. Over the past 20 or so years, I've been around a fair number of Red Sox fans who sort of "jumped on the trendy, cool thing to do" of "following" the Red Sox. I remember a game several years ago where a guy in full Red Sox gear in Baltimore asked his friend when David Ortiz came up to the dish - "this guy is good, right?" You just don't hear that from Yankee fans. @canderson@Bubbler86please understand that the above is NOT a reflection of you, nor your love and knowledge of baseball and the Red Sox.
  9. Yep...Carlisle enjoying some cooler weather over that way...
  10. I get it...I don't like the Yankees either, obviously. However, I appreciate and respect the dynasty. The names. The records. The old stadium. The tradition. Baseball would not be what it is without the Yankees and their history.
  11. I don't know who is more annoying- Angelo or Howard. Not only is Howard annoying, he's crass as well.
  12. Must have been some river cooling going on. I reached 97.
  13. Rain crossing the river JUST south of the HBG near New Cumberland. Looks like most of it will split Harrisburg and MDT.
  14. Just hit 97. Will likely be the high for here as well. A few cells around the HBG area right now, but nothing imminent in this area.
  15. Thank you for checking. I'm pretty certain the heat wave I'm thinking of was July 1995. That river must have cooled them off efficiently that night.
  16. Do you or anyone else remember the year? It was record breaking heat from what I remember. Maybe it was the year of their highest recorded temp?
  17. There was a year in maybe the mid 1990s that I reached 108. I didn't keep heat records specifically, but there was a stretch of weather where we were well over 100 for multiple days, and on a couple my low was in the mid 80s as I recall.
  18. 92 here now. Can't wait for the real heat tomorrow.
  19. I was in Florida at the time (Walt Disney World) and watched the game at ESPN over at the Boardwalk. The game of missed field goals...
  20. Thanks for posting the information. So many great little places in PA to explore.
